The paper presents and gives general overview of directions, in compliance with present europeand standards, how to protect industrial equipment and plants against potential danger of over- and underpressure, explosion and concurrent fires due to presence of flammable and explosive powders, liquids, vapours and gases. The approach based on venting, suppressing and isolation was taken into account. The danger and influence of static electricity was shown too.
