The paper includes issues of effects of a typical damages of high-power induction motors used as company own drives of industrial power stations and heat and power stations. Main mechanical dama ges were discussed. Selected damages were presented both in stator and in rotor that cause failures of motors, including, among other: tearing off the motor rotor shaft, tearing off the fan blades, revolution of stator iron in relation to motor body, failure of bearing centres of motor.
