Energy Balance of Uneven-Running Transmission with Cogbelt

The paper presents the analysis of the energy balance of non-classical strand transmission with cogbelt. Two analysis were conducted. The first one consisted in excited rotation of driving pulley during a free rotation of driven pulley. The second one consisted in excited rotation of driving pulley during driven pulley braking with a torque of 10 N⋅m. The presented conclusions can be useful for designers of uneven-running strand transmissions which are applied in the field of machine and device drives.

The issue of research of selected phenomena of dynamics and operation during work of uneven running strand transmissions with cogbelt is presented in the paper. Investigations were conducted with the use of high speed camera HighSpeedStar 5. Illustration of designed test stand and preliminary analysis of images, which were obtained during work of uneven running transmission for different rotational speed of gears and variable load conditions, are presented. The developed methodology of research should be helpful during characterization of non-classical coupling process of cogbelt and non-circular cogbelt pulleys. The test results will be used for analysis of performance, manufacturing accuracy of individual components and assembly correctness of uneven running transmissions.
