The paper comprises a comparison of some geotechnical parameters of unburt colliery spoils from Anna Coal Mine after various time of depositing on the dumping ground i. e. 0,5 year, 2-years and 30-years. Investigations concerned petrographic composition, grain size distribution, natural moisture content, optimum moisture content and maximum dry density, specific gravity and shearing strength. It was stated that colliery spoils from Anna Coal Mine are coarse grain material containing hard rocks relatively resistant to weathering processes. Results obtained from the investigations revealed that petrographic composition and rock diagenesis as well as the way of depositing and compaction, apart from atmospheric factors and time of depositing, have basic influence on weathering processes and changes of geotechnical parameters resulted from them.
