The results of microbiological testing confirmed a lack of antimicrobial resistance of the polyurethane sole systems against hyphal fungi. They are conducive to fungal and bacterial growth. Hyphal fungi may cause polyurethane system biodeterioration (unwanted degradation) Microbiological protection of staff footwear, particularly in hospital environment, should be employed to diminish microbial adherence to polyurethane footwear soles. The soles produced from polyurethane material containing 0.2% based on the active agent N-butyl-1-2 benzisothhhia-zolin-3-on (BBIT) revealed antimicrobial properties.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości wykorzystania tworzyw poliuretanowych w elementach maszyn I urządzeń roboczych stosowanych w górnictwie odkrywkowym. Zamieszczono wyniki badań wytrzymałościowych poliuretanów oraz przedstawiono wyniki badań poligonowych elementów koparek, przenośników taśmowych i zwałowarek wykonanych w poliuretanu.

The basic machinery are comployed in the coal open pits are equipped with the internal belt conveyors transport and the outer belt conveyor transport system. The belt conveyors transport systems task is coal or soil transmission to the receiving dumpers. The overall length of the conveyors transport system in the particular brown coal open pit is over 150 km. The single belt conveyor is equipped with the 2-3 power feed drums and 4-5 strecher drums and in the great number of the runners. Because of the intermediate pourying points between belt conveyors tansport systems - the belt conveyors are working in the strong dynamical loads. The great dynamical loads dumping method is through elastic lining on the all runners types.In the Polish brown coal open pits the dumping method is through rubber rings on the all runners. Th elife durability of such runners is shorter then main runners. In the damage state they are the coal pits source.In the modern machinery design the polyurethane elastomers (PUR) elements are employed. With the great thermal and chemical resistance they are placed on the rubber traditional positions. The polyurethane is strong in the griding resistance, oxygen and light resistant. Such very good characteristics will give long durability in the open air work as the summary effecy. They are oil, grease and fuel resistant too. The polyurethane working temperature range is between -40C to +90C or to 120C. such materials are very resistance for the griding and are applied in the supporting rings and as the seal between movable elements. Such characteristics will be suitable for the brown coal applications.The paper presents suitability of the polyurethane elastomers (PUR) elements for the brown coal open pits machinery applications. The polyurethane strength experimental research are shown. The polyurethane machinery elements proof ground investigation research results are presented too.

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane wyniki badań doświadczalnych elementów warstwowych o budowie zbliżonej do konstrukcji zderzaka, w których elementem pochłaniającym energię jest tworzywo poliuretanowe.
