Transformacja światowej gospodarki, w tym także transportu lotniczego spowodowała dynamiczny proces intensyfikacji zachowań konkurencyjnych, stając się jednym z głównych źródeł rozwoju tego sektora i tworząc równocześnie skuteczny mechanizm selekcji rynkowej. Przemiany, jakie w transporcie lotniczym na ogół dokonywały się w sposób ewolucyjny obejmowały kolejno demonopolizację, deregulację oraz liberalizację, których skutkiem były wielokierunkowe zmiany, w tym najbardziej spektakularna – powstanie niskokosztowych przewoźników lotniczych. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest przedstawienie działalności podmiotów oferujących niskokosztowe usługi lotnicze, głównie poprzez zidentyfikowanie ich istoty, charakteru, reguł funkcjonujących w tym segmencie rynku, wpływu na rozwój turystyki i innych gałęzi gospodarki oraz wielostronnej aktywizacji regionów znajdujących się w strefie ich oddziaływania. Badania zostały przeprowadzone metodą sondażu diagnostycznego z wykorzystaniem autorskiego kwestionariusza ankiety.

The transformation of the global economy, including air transport, has led to a dynamic process of intensifying competitive behavior, becoming one of the main sources of growth in this sector and creating an effective market selection mechanism. At the same time, the dynamics of air transport have generally been demonstrable in the evolution of air transport. Deregulation and liberalization, which resulted in multidirectional changes, including the most spectacular – the emergence of low cost airlines. The purpose of this paper is to present the activities of low cost airlines, mainly by identifying their character, the nature of the rules in this market segment, their impact on the development of tourism and other sectors of the economy, and the multilateral activation of the regions in their zone of influence.

Global economic development and the increase in the wealth of some social groups associated with it, create favourable conditions, which result in the growing demand for services of the highest level of quality, comfort and luxury. The development of elite services can be seen both in the passenger air transport, as well as in tourism. The present paper analyzes this process by a detailed assessment of the conditions, stimulators, objectives, results and prospects of the development of these segments of services. The analysis was performed on the selected airlines and tourism activities, and the nature of the relation resulting from the partnership between the entities of the two businesses was assessed. It has been shown that within these segments there is a very strong competition, which results in the innovative solutions which reach an exceptionally high level of luxury that caters almost entirely for the highest expectations of the wealthiest customers. The evaluation of this issue shows that elite passenger service starts from the place of residence and ends at the destination specified by the customer. Superior level of luxury is not only served in the VIP lounges on the airports and on board of the aircrafts, but also in the subsequent phases of the tourist process, which add up to the whole program of leisure.

Światowy rozwój gospodarczy i związany z nim wzrost zasobności niektórych grup społecznych tworzy dogodne warunki, w których następuje rosnące zapotrzebowanie na usługi o najwyższym poziomie jakości, komfortu i luksusu .Rozwój elitarnych usług można zauważyć zarówno w pasażerskiej komunikacji lotniczej, jak i w turystyce. W przedstawionym opracowaniu dokonano analizy tego procesu, poddając szczególnej ocenie uwarunkowania, stymulatory, cele, efekty oraz perspektywy rozwoju tego segmentu usług. Badania przeprowadzono w wybranych liniach lotniczych oraz działających w branży turystycznej i oceniono charakter wzajemnych relacji powstałych w wyniku partnerskiej współpracy pomiędzy podmiotami obydwu rodzajów działalności. Wykazano, że wewnątrz tych segmentów istnieje bardzo silna konkurencja, w wyniku której wypracowywane innowacje charakteryzują się wyjątkowo wysokim poziomem luksusu, który zaspokaja niemal w pełni najbardziej wyszukane oczekiwania najzamożniejszej grupy klientów. Analiza wykazała, że elitarna obsługa pasażera rozpoczyna się od miejsca zamieszkania i kończy w punkcie docelowym. Wysoki poziom luksusu oferowany jest nie tylko w portowych salonikach VIP, na pokładzie samolotów, ale również w kolejnych fazach procesu turystycznego, składających się na całokształt wypoczynku.

Within the accelerating development of tourist traffic there become more and more visible the service segments characterized by a significant range of autonomy. One of them may include air tourism, the development of which provides a growing demand for this type of services. The issues discussed in the article refer to the conditions, goals and perspectives associated with this scope of the service provision. Analyses and evaluation carried out in this study show that the increasing benefits from these activities are derived both by airlines, as well as by the recipient of their services. They are favoured by contemporary conditions, such as, among other things, systematically expanding route network, competitive prices of flights, the increment in the wealth and mobility of populations, including the elderly, and the minimum inconvenience associated with this form of travel. Aircraft manufacturers meet the expectations of tourists by constructing models which provide more and more comfortable flight, the maximum compression of time and space, and a significant improvement in operating efficiency and protection of the natural environment. The confirmation of the growing importance of this trend are next versions of the new generation aircrafts entering into operation.

W przyspieszającym procesie rozwoju ruchu turystycznego rysują się coraz wyraźniejsze segmenty usług charakteryzujące się istotnym zakresem odrębności. Do jednego z nich można zaliczyć turystykę lotniczą, której rozwój zapewnia zaspokojenie rosnącego zapotrzebowania na ten rodzaj usług. Omówiona w artykule problematyka dotyczy uwarunkowań, celów i perspektyw związanych z tym zakresem świadczeń. Przeprowadzone rozważania i oceny wykazują, że rosnące korzyści z tej działalności czerpią zarówno linie lotnicze, jak i odbiorcy ich usług. Sprzyjają temu współczesne uwarunkowania, między innymi systematycznie rozwijająca się sieć połączeń, konkurencyjna cena przelotów, wzrost zasobności i mobilności społeczeństw, w tym także seniorów oraz minimalna uciążliwość związana z tą forma podróżowania. Naprzeciw oczekiwaniom turystów wychodzą producenci samolotów, konstruując modele zapewniające coraz wyższy komfort przelotu, maksymalną kompresję czasu i przestrzeni oraz istotną poprawę operacyjnej efektywności i ochrony środowiska naturalnego. Potwierdzeniem wzrostu znaczenia takiego trendu są wchodzące do eksploatacji kolejne wersje samolotów nowej generacji.
