In the paper are presented criteria and assumption for design and practical realization of asynchronous 125 kW trolleybus drive as well as measured saving energy parameters. Drive structure and capacitance of supercapacitor bank seems to be the most important questions which ought to be consider to find good balance between technical and economical aspects. There are also described control algorithms and shown some examples of costs. It also outlines and discuss the results of tests of the vehicle after two years of operation.
