In the study of wear behavior of tribo-pairs in reciprocating pumps, the tribo-pairs can be considered as contact pairs consisting of a disc and pin. In this paper, pin-on-disc wear tests were carried out by using two types of cast iron pin specimens with different materials. Additionally, the effects of the lubrication condition, test load, diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating and plateau honing cross-hatch pattern on wear behavior of the tribo-pairs were investigated. Experimental results based on surface topography analysis and scanning elec- tron micrograph (SEM) analysis show that the lubricant and DLC coating have a positive effect on wear resistance of test specimens. Disc specimens of three material types (i.e. ISO 185/JL/250, tin-bronze, zirconia) are able to show good anti-wear behavior. The tribo-pairs composed of spheroidal graphite cast irons as well as implementation of the plateau honing cross hatch on disc specimens have no significant effect on the wear resistance. The Archard model was used to estimate abrasive wear under dry conditions, which was over-predicted compared to the experimental results.

This paper presents the results of plain journal bearings with the operating surface covered by white metal bearing alloys: tin and lead operating with steel journal and bush poured by bronze and nitrosulfonized. It also presents preliminary studies of bearing set: hardened steel journal covered with a layer of nano-composite nc-WC/aC: H - bush of bearing metal as lead alloy. The effect of wear on the tribological characteristics of the bearing was investigated. During the tests a continuous identification of friction conditions was monitored in the bearing. The wear was determined by a method based on the measurement of the roundness of bearing operating surface as well as on the traditional way by weight.

Modyfikacja polegała m.in. na użyciu czterech różnych ścierniw o granulacji 300-500 ľm. Przedstawiono wyniki badań.

The quantitative correlation between process of abrasive particles desintegration and process of abrasive wear has been presented for seleted group of materials. In the experiment a modified test beuch has been utilised which design is generally based an american standard ASTM G-65 being commonly accepted method for abrasion resistance testing of materials used for mining machinery. The modification was that four different abrasive materials were used of granulation 300-500 ľm. Results of the experiment have been presented.

The results of mechanocorrosive wear of tribo-pair steel-polyethylene in water electrolyte are discussed. It is shown that tribocorossion is a decisive factor of total wear intensity.

Omówiono wyniki mechanokorozyjnego zużycia pary tribologicznej stal-polietylen w elektrolicie wodnym. Pokazano, że tribokorozja jest decydującym czynnikiem w całkowitej intensywności zużycia.
