Współczesne trendy w logistyce skupiają się na efektywniejszym wykorzystaniu zasobów, eliminacji marnotrawstw oraz zachowaniu wysokiej elastyczności dla zwinnej odpowiedzi na zapotrzebowania klientów. Równolegle rozwijane są narzędzia komputerowego wspierania procesów logistycznych. Wydaje się zatem, że logistyka jest gotowa na przyjęcie założeń czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej definiowanej od 2011 roku jako Industry 4.0 za sprawą rządu Niemiec. Przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjne, dostosowując swoje procesy do zmiennych warunków rynkowych, często wdrażają wybrane koncepcje lean lub agile czy też realizują transformację zgodnie z wymaganiami zyskującej na popularności koncepcji Industry 4.0. Celem artykułu jest odpowiedź na pytanie problemowe: czy współczesne trendy w logistyce pokrywają się z założeniami Industry 4.0? W drugiej kolejności autorzy pytają czy zmiany zachodzące w środowiskach produkcyjnych znajdą odzwierciedlenie w procesach logistycznych? W ramach pracy autorzy dokonują subiektywnej oceny trendów realizowanych przez współczesne przedsiębiorstwa i określają na podstawie analizy literaturowej wyzwania, z którymi będą się one musiały zmierzyć w najbliższych latach.

Current trends in logistics focus on increase in efficient usage of resources, eliminating losses within process and maintaining high flexibility to nimbly answer clients’ needs. Simultaneously other tools are being developed like computer aided software for supporitng logistics processes. It seems that modern logistics is ready to answer needs which come out of fourth industrial revolution which is defined since 2011 as Industry 4.0 according to German government. Production companies, while adjusting to changing market conditions, very often implement different conecpts like lean or agile. Sometimes they try to transform according to Industry 4.0 concept’s requirements. The main target of the paper is to answer the question: are current trends in logistics are concurring Industry 4.0 assumptions? What is more authors ask about following changes in production environment and their reflection in logistcs’ processes. Within the paper authors prepared subjective evaluation of current trends in modern companies and described, on the basis of literature review, challenges which will have to be faced by these companies in following years.

Most of the publications referred to Logistics 4.0 focus on the description of the newest technologies in contemporary supply chains applications. There are also many articles which treat Logistics 4.0 as a new paradigm. Regarding the fact that there is little amount of publications in the Polish language related to Logistics 4.0, the authors are going to fill identified research gap. Systematic literature review methods were used. The purpose of the research was to define Logistics 4.0 and answer whether it is a new paradigm or a set of known technical, technological and organizing solutions. he analysis covered domestic and foreign publications selected according to an empirical criterion. The literature review proved that Logistics 4.0 is not characterized by features of a new paradigm in management sciences. Logistics 4.0 is a connection of known technical, technological and organizational solutions. The only novelty is a mere connection of above solutions in a consistent logistics concept.
