Problems in the organisation of the transport process on the international market

The transport process consists of many stages, where many interferences and problems may occur. It is important to identify these problems and find solutions to them, for example, using innovative tools supporting transport process management. A properly organised transport process allows the entire supply chain to function properly. For a transport process to be effective, it must be appropriately coordinated from planning, organising, implementing and controlling. In each of these phases, different types of problems may be encountered; therefore, the persons responsible for the various phases must monitor them closely. By reacting quickly, they can resolve any interference, so that the whole supply chain runs without major problems. The organisation of transport processes consists of several phases, which are an integral part of the whole process. Properly trained staff, knowledge of the transport market and the needs of the customer are essential for a company to function properly. Thanks to these three components, a company can offer services at the highest level. This work aims to develop a scheme of the transport process on the international market and also identify problems occurring in the organisation of transport processes. Some solutions to existing problems are also proposed.

This paper analyzes the real-world experience of using Bicycle traffic as a new way of supporting logistics traffic and reducing the load on the transport network of cities. As a result of this research, it was found that the real-world experience yields positive results and that cycling is actively becoming common in most of the world's cities. In the Russian Federation, not much attention has been paid to this in comparison with other countries; nevertheless, in recent years, this has been actively pursued. Research of the transport system supporting the city Stary Oskol of the Belgorod region and the Russian Federation allowed the authors to determine the main strategies for the development of a comprehensive and integrated Cycling network consisting of a Bikeway Plan as well as an economic assessment of its implementation. To justify this Bikeway plan, a simulation of travel time on public transport, calculation of the total travel time on various modes of transport and calculation of the walking time compared to the time spent in public transport were performed.

W artykule przedstawiono modele symulacyjne zdefiniowane za pomocą programu Arena firmy Rockwell Automation, Inc. Każdy z opisanych w pracy modeli posiada własną strukturę i odpowiada przyjętemu algorytmowi wyboru racjonalnego przydziału trasy transportowej. Kryterium wyboru najlepszego wariantu (i tym samym najskuteczniejszego modelu) był całkowity koszt transportu zamówionego towaru z 6 różnych magazynów hurtowni budowlanej. Przeprowadzona w artykule analiza wykazała przydatność zastosowania modeli komputerowych i przeprowadzania symulacji do rozwiązywania zagadnień transportowych.

The paper presents simulation models defined with Arena of Rockwell Automation, Inc. Each of the five models described in the article has its own structure and corresponds to the adopted algorithm to choose the rational allocation of transport routes. The criterion for choosing the best option (and thus the most effective model) was the total cost of transport of goods ordered from 6 different storage of wholesale building materials supplier. Carried out in the article analysis showed the usefulness of the use of computer modelling and simulation to solve transportation problems.

This work presents an improvement of the approximation scheme for the Monge–Kantorovich (MK) mass transfer problem on compact spaces, which is studied by Gabriel et al. (2010), whose scheme discretizes the MK problem, reduced to solve a sequence of finite transport problems. The improvement presented in this work uses a metaheuristic algorithm inspired by scatter search in order to reduce the dimensionality of each transport problem. The new scheme solves a sequence of linear programming problems similar to the transport ones but with a lower dimension. The proposed metaheuristic is supported by a convergence theorem. Finally, examples with an exact solution are used to illustrate the performance of our proposal.

Przedstawiono postępowanie mające na celu rozwiązanie otwartego zadania transportowego przez sprowadzenie go do postaci zadania zamkniętego. Optymalizację przeprowadzono dwuetapowo, z wykorzystaniem Metody Kąta Północno-Zachodniego w etapie pierwszym oraz Zmodyfikowanej Metody Przydziału w etapie drugim. Przyjęte postępowanie stanowi skuteczną metodę rozwiązywania niezbilansowanych zadań transportowych, pozwalającą dodatkowo na określanie wielkości kosztów ponoszonych przez dostawców lub odbiorców, których potrzeby nie zostaną zaspokojone.

The work presents a procedure intended to solve an open transport problem by bringing it to the form of a closed problem. The optimisation was carried out in two stages, using the Northwest Angle Method in the first stage and Modified Allocation Method in the second stage. The chosen procedure constitutes an effective method for solving non-balanced transport problems, which additionally allows to determine amounts of the costs incurred by suppliers or buyers, whose needs will not be satisfied.

W ostatnich latach, ze względu na istotne zmiany w środowisku przekształcanym przez człowieka, w tym dużej koncentracji populacji w miastach i obszarach podmiejskich oraz zwiększenie ruchliwości ludzi, przy jednoczesnym zatłoczeniu miast i zanieczyszczeniu środowiska przez przemysł i pojazdy spalinowe, zwiększa się zainteresowanie systemami zelektryzowanego transportu szynowego, jako praktycznie jedynym efektywnym rozwiązaniem problemów komunikacyjnych w dużych aglomeracjach.
