The paper is focused on the proposal regarding the regional transport organization within Integrated Transport System in a given territory using the selected multi-criteria analysis methods. Introductory parts of this research study include basic information related to this topic as well as description of the current state of the public passenger transport operation, specifically the Integrated Transport System,on a particular territory. Subsequent part of the paper consists of specification of all the data and methods used and applied to obtain the final outcomes. The most important part of the paper highlights all the acquired results and proposed recommendations that need to be established to achieve the more appropriate regional transport organization in the examined territory.

Artykuł zawiera analizę dostępności komunikacyjnej województw pod względem gęstości sieci transportowej oraz liczby połączeń bezpośrednich, realizowanych transportem kolejowym, autobusowym i lotniczym. Dla tych trzech gałęzi transportu porównano i przeanalizowano czasy jazdy oraz ceny biletów z dwóch okresów (marca i października 2011 r.), będące obok dostępności przestrzennej i czasowej czynnikami decydującymi o wyborze środka transportu, a tym samym o jego pozycji konkurencyjnej. Przedstawiono również i porównano wyniki analizowanych gałęzi transportu, mierzone wielkością przewozów.

The paper includes an analysis of regional transport accessibility in respect of transport network density and the number of direct connections provided in rail, coach and air transport. Since the choice of transport mode, i.e. particular transport competitiveness, is besides location and time, dependent mostly on travel time and fare, the travel times and fares were compared for these three modes of transport within two periods (March and October, 2011). Moreover, results of the transport modes under study according to traffic volume are shown.
