In the frame in the scientific programs of Toruń Polar Expeditions to Spitsbergen the Department of Climatology, N. Copernicus University, realizes meteorological research works in wide range taking into consideration also the solar radiation. The actinometric measurements are carried out at the Polar Station situated on the Kaffiőyra Plain (NW Spitsbergen), cp = 78°41'N, λ= 11°51' E, H = 11.5 m a.s.1. The measurements were made with the use of the Linke-Feussner actinometer No. 80 with Schott glass colour filters OG 1, RG2 and RG8 in half hour steps. In the summer 1979 ca 200 measurement series were made. On their basis the transparency coefficients of atmosphere (P2) at the altitude of the Sun h = 30°, i.e. of the optical atmospheric mass m = 2 (tab1e 1) and mean diurnal courses of the intensity of the whole solar spectrum radiation and its 9 parts according to the altitude of the Sun were calculated (tab le 2, and fig. 1).
