In the paper a modified Park transformation from phase reference frame ABC to dq reference frame for wye connected stator winding without neutral wire (Fig.1,2) is presented. A physical two-phase interpretation of obtained voltage equation (Eq.1) is proposed (Fig.3). Using classical transformation matrix [T] (Eq.2) and constraint matrix [C] (Eq.3) all variables present in (Eq.1) are transformed to dq reference frame. In contradiction to classical transformation matrix which [T] is the same for all variables, in proposed modified transformation its matrices for transformation of currents [TI] and fluxes/voltages [Teψ] (Fig.4) are different. However they are strongly interconnected which is presented in (Fig.5). This ensures preservation of the most important features of classical transformation. The form of the voltage equation (Eq.18) is the same as in the case of classical transformation [5,8]. The inductance matrix in the dq reference frame in case of an idealised reluctance motor (Eq.19) is diagonal (Eq.25) [5]. The invariance of power is preserved which is evident in the form of equations (Eq.26), (Eq.27) and (Eq.31). All these features prove mathematical correctness of the proposed transformation.
