Profesjonalizacja w Siłach Zbrojnych RP sprawiła, że konieczna jest nowelizacja wielu istniejących regulacji prawnych odnoszących się do nich. Ponadto, systematycznie od wielu lat, jest realizowany program transformacji naszej armii. Oba te procesy przebiegają w klimacie zmieniającego się środowiska bezpieczeństwa i nowych wyzwań dotyczących użycia sił zbrojnych. Wszystko to musi wyzwalać wiele dyskusji wokół podejmowanych przedsięwzięć. W artykule autor porusza część istotnych problemów, które stoją na drodze wysiłków mających na celu rozwój naszego wojska.

The Polish Armed Forces' professionalization imposed the necessity to introduce changes into many existing legal regulations. Moreover, for many years, systematically, the program of our army's transformation has been implemented. Both processes are going on with continuously changing security environment around and in the face of many new challenges in the army. The article is an attempt to present some essential problematic issues related to the above.

Transformation of the US Armed Forces is a natural consequence of evolution of international order after the collapse of the Soviet Union. As a result of geopolitical, technological and social changes, the Americans make an attempt to modify their armed forces, both in technical and doctrinal-organizational aspect. The author analyzes transformation tendencies on the basis of official documents and juxtaposes them with the opinions. of experts (politicians and officers). The article further discusses the most important changes in all branches: land and air forces, and in the navy.
