Purpose: Ensuring the required operational reliability of disc brakes by forecasting their technical condition taking into account thermomechanical processes. Design/methodology/approach: Differential equations of rotation of a rigid body around a fixed axis are solved, it is established that the equations of motion and the equations of thermal conductivity are indirectly related. The use of these analytical dependences provides a better understanding of thermomechanical transients. Findings: The solution is obtained on the basis of the differential equation of thermal conductivity of the hyperbolic type, which does not allow an infinite velocity of propagation of temperature perturbations in contrast to the differential equation of thermal conductivity of the parabolic Fourier type. The obtained analytical dependences provide a better understanding of thermomechanical transients and develop a theoretical basis for determining stresses and heat fluxes in solving problems of reliability and durability of disc brakes. Research limitations/implications: The work uses generally accepted assumptions and limitations for thermomechanical calculations. Practical implications: It is shown, that transients in a mechanical system - a brake disk at impulse loadings cause emergence of thermal effects which arise under the influence of external loadings. Originality/value: The application of these analytical dependences provides a better understanding of thermomechanical transients and develops a theoretical basis for solving problems of reliability and durability of disc brakes.

Purpose: The main purpose of the study was to determine the efficiency of mechanoacoustic piezoceramic power head with resonance frequency of 26.4 kHz, used in acoustic processing of liquid steel. The efficiency was determined due to compressive force quantity of piezoelectrical ceramic, characterized by the moment turning circumferential screws of the head. Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted on a water model. Efficiency was determined depending on the pressure force of active and passive part of the head, specified by torque moment within the range of 25-35 Nm and depending on the medium active power on the output of the generator within the range of 50-150 W. The mechanoacoustic efficiency was determined by calorimetrical method. Findings: The acquired findings indicate relations between the radiation power inflicted, the force turning circumferential screws and the mechanoacoustic efficiency of power head. Research limitations/implications: The results obtained shall be used while designing and operating power heads. Practical implications: It is necessary to consider the mechanoacoustic efficiency of the applied power head during sound amplification of liquid centers. Originality/value: Acoustic processing may be the last stage of steel ingot quality forming process, therefore it is necessary to learn all the parameters influencing its efficiency.

There are various processes for production of turbine blades. Hot forging has been the most common, especially for automotive, marine and industrial turbochargers or aero-engines turbines. Advanced computer modelling has become a powerful tool for process planning and tool design in order to get near-net shape blades in hot forging. This paper presents the effect of die cavity positioning on metal flow and distribution of lateral forces in the die during aero-engine turbine blade hot forging. An influence of torsional moment on dies offsetting introduced by these lateral forces has also been pointed out.

Wiele jest sposobów produkcji łopatek turbin, a kucie na gorąco zaliczane jest do klasycznych. Poprzez kucie produkuje się łopatki do sprężarek różnych silników samochodowych, okrętowych, przemysłowych itd. Zaawansowane modelowanie komputerowe stało się poważnym narzędziem w opracowaniu procesów technologicznych i konstrukcji narzędzi do kucia łopatek prawie na gotowo. W referacie przedstawiono wpływ umiejscowienia wykrojów w matrycy na płynięcie metalu i zmiany sił bocznych działających na wykrój matrycy w trakcie procesu kucia łopatki. Wskazano również, że powstaje moment skręcający matryce dolne i górne, prowadzący do błędów wynikających z przesadzenia matryc.
