The paper is focused on presenting a methodology for measuring power and torque based on diagnostic equipment available in most diagnostic workshops, such as OBD interfaces or the CAN Bus on-board data transmission network, under real-world road conditions. The publication presents an algorithm for calculating the powertrain’s torque and power based on measurements of changes in vehicle speed or acceleration recording during a two-phase road test. The results presented, based on the method described, apply to both the internal combustion and electric vehicle. Common powertrain operating parameters, such as maximum power, maximum torque and the powertrain’s flexibility parameters described in the literature, are proposed for the final evaluation of the vehicle’s traction system.

W publikacji opisano prace dotyczące projektu oraz budowy nasadki pomiarowej służącej do kontroli sprężania połączeń śrubowych. Dodatkowo przedstawione zostało stanowisko laboratoryjne, które zostało zbudowane specjalnie do strojenia nasadki. Przedstawiono także przebieg oraz wyniki wstępnego strojenia nasadki pomiarowej. Prace opisane w artykule były prowadzone przez Akademię Górniczo-Hutniczą oraz Zakład Budowy Maszyn OSSA i są one kontynuacją prac nad inteligentnymi zakrętarkami elektromechanicznymi.

The paper describes the work on the design and construction of a measuring device for evaluation of the tightening of bolted joints. In addition, a laboratory test bench is presented, which was constructed especially for adjusting of the measuring device. The process and results of the initial adjusting of the measuring device are also presented. The work described in the paper was carried out by the AGH University of Science and Technology and the OSSA Machinery Works and is a continuation of the work on intelligent electric torque tool.

The consistency of torque measurements during repetitive moving arm movements and also during passive wrist movements at two angular velocities of slow (~6°/s) and moderate (~120°/s) was investigated. The designed and developed device was applied to 3 cases, to a spring, to 8 able-bodied subjects and to 2 hemiplegic patients. While the mean of the intraclass correlation coefficient of subjects were 0.65 and 0.75 for slow and moderate angular velocities, those of the hemiplegic patients and the spring respectively ranged between excellent values of 0.93–1 and 0.91–1. The Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficients of the 3 cases for the 2 slow and moderate angular velocities ranged between 0.80 and 1. We could verify that the device can be used in our future researches and it can (1) reliably rotate a moving arm horizontally with angular velocities between 3 and 350°/s constantly in a range of motion between -60 and 60° and (2) simultaneously capture the data of angular displacement, torque, and two electromyogram activities. For the standardization of our future studies with the device, we could verify the stability of the last two repeated passive wrist movements in case of patients. The results of the study with the able-bodied subjects are also important as a reference for our studies with the hemiplegic.

W pracy przedstawiono metodę pomiaru sprawności maszyny elektrycznej z zastosowaniem bezprzewodowego łącza optycznego, pracującego w zakresie podczerwieni. Pomiar sprawności polega na porównaniu mocy pobieranej przez maszynę z mocą oddawaną; do wyznaczania mocy oddawanej niezbędny jest pomiar momentu skręcającego w trakcie pracy maszyny. W tym celu na wirującym wale badanej maszyny instalowany jest zespół czujników tensometrycznych, w którym powstaje sygnał niosący informację o mierzonym momencie. Sygnał ten jest następnie transmitowany bezprzewodowym łączem optycznym z wirującego wału do stacjonarnej części układu pomiarowego. Poprawność pomiaru momentu skręcającego, a w konsekwencji sprawności maszyny, zademonstrowano na przykładzie silnika indukcyjnego.

In the paper, the method for the estimation of an electric machine efficiency by means of cordless infra-red optical link is described. To measure the efficiency, the machine input power is compared to that it produces; to measure the output power, the estimation of the torque while the machine is operating is needed. To achieve this, the set of strain gauges measuring the signal linked to the torque is placed on the machine spinning shaft. The signal is then transmitted by the cordless optical link from the spinning part to the stationary part of the measuring system. The adequacy of such a torque measurements, and, in conse-quence, the machine efficiency measuring system is illustrated for the induction motor.

In paper device for measuring of torque and rotational speed at the ship main drive propeller shaft transferred will be described.. This device connected to the power plant monitoring systemt. It may be used for continuous control of operating costs of the ship and for the choosing of safe and best engine operational parameters. It is possible to observe the actual point of engine's operational state marked against the mechanical characteristic chart. The limited, safe area of acceptable working points is displayed on the diagram as well. The presented torque meter has possibility to measure instantaneous fluctuations of the torque and engine rotational speed as a function of the shaft rotation angle. This is a piece of important diagnostic information for fast preliminary assessment of the load on a particular cylinder and of the quality of engine work.

The paper presents the method of measuring instantaneous torque and rotational speed fluctuations on the propeller shaft of a ship. The measured data are significantly deformed, therefore spectral analysis and filtering are used for estimating the real signals. The microprocessor torque meter ETNP-8 described in the paper was designed to measure not only mean values of the torque and rotational speed on the ship’s propeller shaft, but also instantaneous fluctuations of the torque and engine rotational speed as a function of the shaft rotation angle. Displaying timehistories of those parameters on the monitor screen of an external PC computer gives the operator an opportunity to make a preliminary performance assessment for each individual cylinder in the engine, and for the drive system as a whole. As an example, the analysis and processing of the measured torque and rotational speed fluctuations are presented. The measurements were done on the training ship m/s Horyzont II, owned by the Gdynia Maritime University.

The paper presents the results of experimental verification of an analytical field model of a squirrel cage induction motor. Basic properties of the model are presented. Methods employed in the measurement are described. The obtained torque measurement data are compared with the simulation results for a selected machine prototype.
