Przedmiotem tego artykułu jest analiza stosowanych rozwiązań toalet w pociągach oraz wskazanie potrzeby regulacji prawnej minimalnej liczby toalet przypadających na dany typ składu pociągu. W artykule podjęto dyskusję o problemie liczby toalet w pociągach, oraz poziomie utrzymania. Zwraca się uwagę, że powinno to zależeć nie od woli zamawiającego samorządu lokalnego, jak jest dotychczas, lecz wynikać z przepisów. Poruszono także problem standardu technicznego toalety, który pozwoliłby na większa wygodę dla pasażerów.

The aim of this article is analyze of usage solution of the toilets in the trains and show of the law regulation how many of the toilets should be in of the train. The article discusses the problem of the number of toilets in trains and the level of maintenance. It is noted that this should not depend on the will of the local government contracting authority, as it has been so far, but should result from the provisions. The problem of the technical standard of the toilet, which would allow for greater convenience for passengers, was also raised.

Toalety dywersyjne umożliwiają oddzielenie u źródła odpadów metabolizmu ludzkiego - uryny i kału. Rozdział strumieni pozwala na zmniejszenie zużycia wody w toalecie, a także na odzyskanie składników odżywczych, takich jak azot, fosfor i potas, i wykorzystanie ich w postaci nawozu. W artykule opisano podstawowe zasady działania systemu wykorzystującego toalety dywersyjne oraz możliwe sposoby oczyszczania uryny i odzysku wody i pierwiastków.

The diversion toilets enables the separation of black waters (urine and faeces) at the source. The division of the streams allows to reduce water consumption in the toilet, and also allows the recovery of nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and farther usage as a fertilizer. This article describes the basie principles of system operation as well as possible methods of urine treatment and recovery of water and elements.
