W artykule przedstawiono metodę wytwarzania elementów elektro-aktywnych z wykorzystaniem kopolimeru sulfonowanego politetrafluoroetylenu oraz cieczy jonowych. Elementy elektro-aktywne zastosowano jako siłowniki zmieniające grubość materiału izolacyjnego, przeznaczonego do stosowania w odzieży chroniącej przed zimnem. Przedstawiono również i omówiono właściwości elektro-mechaniczne otrzymanego materiału elektro-aktywnego oraz wyniki badań termoizolacyjności aktywnego materiału odzieżowego.

The paper presents the results of study concerning the possibility of use of electro-active ionic polymers, made of sulfonated copolymer of polytetrafluoroethylene "Nafion" for the construction of an active insulating material for clothing protecting against cold. Electro-active polymers (EEAP) are attractive materials for research and applications, due to the similarity of their actions, particularly their resilience, resistance to damage and the ability to induce significant forces, to biological muscles. The effectiveness of thermal insulation of clothing depends strongly on the thickness of the insulation layer. Electro-active materials will be used to change the thickness of insulation layers. A series of EEAP straps was produced and investigated from the point of view of their application as actuators in an active insulating textile material protecting against cold. The studies of the electro-mechanical properties of the series of the produced ionic electro-active materials were conducted and discussed. The results of studies concerning thermo insulating properties of the produced model of an active textile material with EEAP straps are also presented.
