Content available Cargo ships’ heat demand - operational experiment
EN
The paper presents the results of an experiment conducted on two cargo ships – a 5300 TEU container with a steam heating system and a 7500 dwt general cargo ship with a thermal oil system. On both ships research has been carried out using specially designed measuring equipment. After gathering data about flow velocity and temperatures (steam/ cooling water/ thermal oil/ seawater/ outside air), calculations have been done, resulting in histograms. For both types of histograms (heat demand and service time), the probability density function was fitted, using the K-S statistical test. The last step was comparison of the probability distribution mean to seawater and the outside air temperatures by linear regression and the coefficient of determination. The dependencies between the mentioned temperatures and heat demand were noted.

The aim of the paper is to present the results of experimental research conducted on two helical coil biomass boilers with oil heatingagent, which are acentral unitsof co generative micro powerplant designed and built in IFFM in Gdańsk. Experimental data served as a source for defining the interdependencies governing the dynamics of the micro-CHP as a whole. Furthermore, during the research the authors came across a few possible modifications to the construction that may yet improve the device.

The aim of the paper is to present the results of experimental research conducted on helical coil biomass boiler with oil as a heating fluid, which is a central unit of co generative micro powerplant designed and tested at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery in Gdańsk. Experimental data has been used to work out characteristics of the device in terms of power, efficiency and oil parameters for moderate/high excess air numbers and fuel flow rates. Furthermore, during the research the authors came across various obstacles, which can be easily eliminated in the future prototypes by applying presented changes in construction.
