The paper presents an application of a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to finding appropriate parameter values for the numerical simulation of quartz thermoluminescence (TL) and Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL). It is shown that using a genetic algorithm it is possible to achieve a very good match between simulated and experimentally measured thermal activation characteristics of fired quartz.
