Tensile Strength of Untwisted Fibre Streams Measured at Dynamic Conditions

The tensile strength of cotton sliver was analysed under dynamic conditions with the use of an F460 Stick-Slip Friction Tester apparatus from the Zweigle company. In order to obtain measuring data, the fibre stream is directed through the drawing apparatus at constant velocity and constant drawing ratio. Changes in the force created as a result of drawing the fibre stream were continuously recorded with the use of a measuring gauge placed between the pair of drawing rollers. For the purpose of this investigation, the tests were carried out after the second drawing zone for a sliver of central-Asiatic cotton with linear density of 3.4 ktex.

Wytrzymałość na rozciąganie taśmy bawełnianej analizowano w warunkach dynamicznych przy użyciu urządzenia F460 Stick-Slip Friction Tester firmy Zweigle. W celu uzyskania danych pomiarowych, strumień włókien jest kierowany przez urządzenie ciągnące ze stałą prędkością i stałym współczynnikiem ciągnienia. Zmiany siły powstające w wyniku ciągnienia strumienia włókien były w sposób ciągły rejestrowane za pomocą miernika umieszczonego pomiędzy parą rolek ciągnących. Dla celów niniejszego badania, testy zostały przeprowadzone po drugiej strefie ciągnienia dla pasma bawełny środkowoazjatyckiej o gęstości liniowej 3,4 ktex.

An estimation of the tensile strength of untwisted blended cotton/flax fibre streams with flax content from 10% up to 50% was carried out. Slivers with a linear density of 3 ktex after the second drawing machine were the objects of investigation. The tensile strength tests were carried out with the use of a tension tester by means of the static method in accordance with Polish Standard PN-88/P-04771. The results obtained were compared with the results obtained by the means of dynamic method with the use of the F 460 Stick-Slip Friction Tester apparatus.

Przeprowadzono ocenę wytrzymałości na rozciąganie taśm mieszankowych bawełna/ len o udziale procentowym lnu od 10 do 50%. Przedmiot badań stanowiły taśmy po drugiej rozciągarce. Masa liniowa taśm wynosiła 3 ktex. Badanie wytrzymałości taśm przeprowadzono zgodnie z normą PN-88/P-04771 metodą statyczną na zrywarce. Otrzymane wyniki porównano z uzyskanymi z metody dynamicznej przy zastosowaniu aparatu „Stick-Slip Friction Tester F460".
