The paper presents the concept of using color template charts for the needs of telemedicine, particularly telediagnosis of the stoma. Although the concept is not new, the current popularity and level of development of digital cameras, especially those embedded in smartphones, allow common and reliable remote advice on various medical problems, which can be very important in the case of limitations in a physical contact with a doctor. The article focuses on the initial stages of photo processing for the needs of telemedicine, i.e., on the assumptions and the process of designing the appropriate template and detecting it in photos for stoma telediagnosis. Research on the developed algorithms for the location of fiducial markers and reference color fields, carried out on the basis of over 2,000 photos, showed a very high tolerance to scene exposure, lighting conditions and the camera used. The obtained results allowed the initial image intensity normalization of the stoma area as well as correct localization and measurement of changes detected on the skin and the mucosa, which, in the opinion of doctors, significantly increased the diagnostic value of the photographs.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję robota do telediagnostyki medycznej. Obecnie robot jest budowany w ramach projektu ReMeDi. Na początek zarysowano wybrane wyniki oceny koncepcji przez użytkownika oraz jego wymagań w odniesieniu do robota. Następnie, nakreślono podstawowe komponenty systemu robota i omówiono wybrane z nich. Konkretnie te, które są realizowane przez krajowych partnerów projektu. Dalej przedstawiono aktualną wersje zintegrowanego systemu, umożliwiającą realizację zdalnego wywiadu i badania usg. Całość domknięto wybranymi wynikami oceny komponentów systemu przez użytkowników.

The article presents the idea of a robot for remote medical examination. Such a robot is under development within the EU FP7 ReMeDi project. We have outlined selected user's evaluation results of the robot idea together with his/her requirements regarding the robot. Then the basic system components are presented and some of them are discussed (those that are under development by Polish partners). Next we present the current version of the integrated system that allows for remove interview, observation and ultrasound examination. The document is completed by selected results of users evaluation of systems components.

W pracy omówiono projekt oraz prototyp urządzenia do bezprzewodowej diagnostyki stanu zdrowia starszej osoby. Opracowany system daje możliwość badania tętna, temperatury i pomiaru EKG. Urządzenie komunikuje się bezprzewodowo ze smartfonem, na którym wyświetlane są wyniki. W sytuacji nagłego pogorszenia się zdrowia użytkownika, stosowne informacje wysyłane są do służb medycznych. Zaprezentowany system posiada wbudowany moduł biologicznego sprężenia zwrotnego do ćwiczeń w oparciu o zmiany tętna i temperatury.

The system and the prototype device for wireless diagnostic of an elderly people, is presented. This system to measures pulse, temperature and ECG. The main elements of hardware/software, enabling communication with a smartphone, are described. Proposed system includes also a biofeedback module for exercises, basing on changes of pulse and body temperature.

Artykuł prezentuje możliwości współczesnej telemedycyny w jej różnych odmianach. Skoncentrowano się na takich formach jak telediagnostyka, telekonsultacje, telekonferencje i teleoperacje, a także telepomoc oraz teleinformacja medyczna. Wymienione kategorie poparto odpowiednimi przykładami. Skupiono się również na zagadnieniach związanych z biotelemetrią, wskazując starsze, jak i nowoczesne, cyfrowe rozwiązania.

The article presents capabilities of different kinds of telemedicine. Its various types such as telediagnostics, teleconsulting, teleconferences and telesurgery as well as teleassistance and medical teleinformation are discussed. Of course, they are supported by adequate examples. Moreover, some aspects related to biotelemetry are touched upon, pointing at former and modern, digital solutions.

A fast development of the computer based diagnostic and data acquisition systems as well as ever falling cost of various types of sensors and converters, together with the possibility of data transmission via various telecommunication systems, create an opportunity to build and to implement the diagnostic systems for the induction motors. This paper presents a concept of a Diagnostic Center for diagnosis of induction motors. We propose a distributed measuring system so called "telemeasuring" system which supporting diagnostic services located in a specialized Diagnostic Center. As for data transmission, the Internet and the LAN networks are used as inexpensive links, as it is more cost efficient to provide a remote the maintenance of the diagnostic service. The concept of the diagnostic system takes into consideration, on one hand the database of diagnostic patterns, on the other hand the database of archival measurements taken while using the machine. The functioning blocks of the diagnostic inference subsystem (the main element of Diagnostic Center) are presented. The realization of the Measuring Server WWW (the main element of distributed measuring system located in Diagnostic Center) is also described in detail in this article.

This paper presents a web-based system for distance acoustic investigation of human voice. The system is dedicated to diagnosis of speech disorders, and can also be used in evaluating voice rehabilitation resuIts, and in screening test of voice organ. The fundamental part of the paper contains an extensive description of the system for voice telediagnostics. The paper also presents a review of presently applied technologies and methods of voice transmission over the Internet.

Picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) are designed to provide the radiologist with image information he needs. Currently, state-of-art standard of digital imaging and communication in medicine (DICOM) gives only alphanumerical descriptions of image and this is the only information used in PACS to select relevant images. However, it is industry standard now, textual descriptions are insufficient to describe variety of details in medical image. The content-based image retrieval (CBIR) systems could support DICOM-based retrieval systems and fulfilI "right time, right place" paradigms. In our work we developed Image Shark - a content-based image retrieval system, integrated with PACS solution in one, fully-integrated environment, with novel JPEG2000 codec for effective image transmission and interactive communication. Our system joins cIassic PACS with content-based image retrieval engine. Such approach gives very flexible and effective image retrieval ways. A set of image- and wavelet-domain based indexes were implemented, verified in initial experiments and selected as suitable for mammograms, radiograms and other modalities. Precision of data retrieval was comparable with other engines (IRMA, others), giving very promising results with similar or better precision level.

W pracy przedstawiono osiągnięcia w zakresie telemedycyny, zarówno na świecie, jak i w Polsce. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na nowoczesne techniki chirurgiczne stosowane w operacjach na odległość. Opisano krótko dwa zrobotyzowane systemy chirurgiczne - teleoperatory, stworzone w Stanach Zjednoczonych, a także projekt pierwszego polskiego robota chirurgicznego RoblnHeart (Fundacja Rozwoju Kardiochirurgii w Zabrzu).

The achievements in telemedicine worldwide, as well as in Poland are presented. The special emphasis is on modern surgery techniques used in remote operations. Two systems are described, coming from the USA, as well as Polish RobinHeart robot from Cardiosurgery Foundation in Zabrze.

W pracy przedstawiono nowe rozwiązania sprzętowo - programowe w diagnostyce obiektów technicznych w oparciu o technologię rozproszonych układów pomiarowych. Podstawową jednostką takiego systemu jest układ zbierania i rejestracji danych do którego dostęp zapewniony jest poprzez przeglądarkę stron internetowych. Przedstawione zostanie praktyczne rozwiązanie zaproponowanego systemu do realizacji diagnostyki maszyn wirnikowych.

In the paper a new concept of monitoring system based on distributed measuring systems technology. Hardware and software solutions applied in the monitoring system are detail discussed. The basic unit in proposed system is embedded measuring system with direct interface to Internet. Embedded home page microserwer build in the system gives possibility to access to the data from Internet Explorer or Netscape without any application software. Implementation of distributed system for rotating machinery diagnostics is described.
