P. Crutzen and E. Stoermer’s concept that humanity has entered a new geological epoch – the Anthropocene, in which the human species has become the leading geological force, is the subject of multidisciplinary scientific research. The debate on the Age of Man reconnects the sphere of facts and the normative sphere, while still continuing the eco-developmental concept oriented towards the search for new socio-economic solutions. One of the assumptions of the naturalistic narrative of the Anthropocene is the conviction that human action has the greatest impact on the environment and we are responsible for its condition. Often compared in literature to other great revolutions in science – Copernicus‘ and Darwin‘s theory – the paradigm shift in thinking in the Anthropocene forces us to rethink the key concepts of classical philosophy: human, nature, responsibility. The article presents an outline of the ethical debate on responsibility in the Anthropocene, considering its collective and individual aspects, and introduces a new concept of co-existence, which integrates ecosystems with the technosphere.

Solar parks are currently considered a new source of energy generation and one of the methods for reducing the usage of fossil fuels. The studies related to the influence of solar parks on vegetation structure are not yet sufficient. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the structure of vegetation biodiversity within a solar park. The vegetation assessment took place in the solar park, located in the cadastral territory of Tišnov (Czech Republic). A total of 85 taxa of vascular plants were found. The vegetation of the solar park is species-rich and significantly fragmented. Perennial grasses and perennial dicots dominate between the panels, whereas annual grasses and annual dicots have more coverage under the photovoltaic (PV) panels. The influence of the solar park microclimate is seen in a higher representation of species with the indication of characteristics mid-continental, and species with the indication of characteristics mid-ocean are more represented among within the PV panels. The vegetation of the solar park is noteworthy from the perspective of biological importance in the agricultural landscape and has a substantial potential to perform ecosystem functions.

W referacie przedstawiono wybrane, ważniejsze elementy cybernetycznej teorii zagrożeń. Przyjęto, że teoria zagrożeń, powinna się zajmować modelowaniem i formalnym opisem zachowania się układów antropotechnicznych, działających w niebezpiecznych okolicznościach. Jako podstawowe, opisywane są trójstanowe systemy: człowieka, obiektu technicznego i infrastruktury transportu. Jako oczywisty aspekt teorii uznano jakościowy i formalny opis bezpiecznościowych charakterystyk.

The paper presents selected highlights of the cybernetic theory of hazards. This theory is a basis for high school teaching of safety engineering. It is assumed that the theory of hazard, should be dealt with modeling and formal description of the behavior of the antropotechnical system in dangerous circumstances. As a basic tri-state systems are described: operator, mean and infrastructure of transport. The interactivity elements of system present matrices of desired and undesired incidents transition in the system multi-state threats. As an obvious aspect of the theory was qualitative and formal description unsafety characteristics. Unsafety states of antropotechnical system divided into border and critical. The critical state of the system that not less than one element of the system is in critical condition. Times attributed the occurrence of damage, making mistakes and critical impact forcing factors are treated as random variables. It is assumed that the basic characteristics of developments the dangerous circumstances are the intensity of critical failures and / or irreversible human errors. The unsafety characteristics represent a conditional unsafety probability and are associated with the coefficients of expected time to critical events.

Informacje na temat otrzymywania cynku przedstawiono w starożytności (Europa, Chiny, Indie). Scharakteryzowano najważniejsze metody produkcji cynku: hutniczą (ISP - Imperial Smelting Processes) i hydrometalurgiczno-elektrolityczną. Omówiono pierwotne i wtórne źródła cynku oraz produkcję tego metalu w głównych ośrodkach wydobycia rud Zn-Pb w XIX i na początku XX wieku. Zwrócono uwagę na rolę złóż śląsko-krakowskich w bilansie globalnej produkcji cynku, na przestrzeni ostatnich wieków. Przedstawiono zmiany wielkości produkcji cynku w XX wieku oraz zmiany cen tego metalu na Londyńskiej Giełdzie Metali (LME). Wskazano, w jakich dziedzinach gospodarki stosowany jest cynk oraz jakiego rodzaju odpady zawierają znaczące ilości tego metalu.

The paper presents the information on the zinc production in antiąuity (Europe, China, India). The most important methods of zinc production: metallurgical (ISP -Imperial Smelting Processes), hydrometallurgical and electrolytic technologies were described. The primary and secondary sources of zinc and production of this metal in main centres of mining operation in XIX and in the beginning of XX century were discussed. It was considered the importance of Silesian-Cracovian deposits in global balance of zinc production over last ages. The changes of zinc production volume in XX century and price changes of this metal in the London Metal Exchange (LME) were presented. There were showed the industrial sectors in which zinc is applied and the types of waste containing significant metal quantity.
