Ecological architecture seems to have no serious alternative. It is accepted by the majority of architects and scientists - yet the results of scientific and design activity have very small influence on the shape of real world of form and building structures around us. The barriers which stop development of ecological and energy-active architecture - and specially semiotic barriers appearing in contact with housing structures - are analysed in this article.
