In the article meaning of polyurethane foam as well as basics of its production are presented. Requirements for IT system, which could support technologists in the process of preparation of recipes to produce polyurethane foam are described. The IT tool is a kind of advanced calculator to calculate many important parameters within a technological recipe to achieve polyurethane foam of a certain type. Further the elaborated prototype system is described. Thanks to the tool the process of polyurethane foams. recipes preparation is relatively quick, integrated and complete.

Przedstawiono znaczenie pianki poliuretanowej, a także opisano podstawy jej produkcji. Zaprezentowano wymagania dla systemu informatycznego, który mógłby wspomagać technologów w procesie przygotowywania receptur technologicznych do produkcji pianki poliuretanowej do zastosowań w branży meblarskiej. Narzędzie takie powinno być kompletne i stanowić rodzaj zaawansowanego kalkulatora do obliczeń wielu ważnych parametrów procesu produkcyjnego w ramach receptury, aby móc produkować piankę o odpowiednich własnościach. Opisano również prototypową aplikację komputerową spełniającą te wymagania.

In the article meaning of polyurethane foam as well as basics of its production was presented. Requirements for computer system, which could support a technologists during the process of technological recipes preparation for production of polyurethane foams to be applied in furniture industry, was presented. This tool should be complete and should be an advanced calculator to calculate several important parameters of production process within a recipe to be able to produce a foam of appropriate features. A prototype computer application fulfilling the requirements was described as well.
