The great interest of VoIP technology is a resulting of the high quality of telephone connections and the low costs of maintenance, either. Unfortunately, these advantages are not exoneration for the level of safety of making phone calls. In the article the attention was paid to the aspects of confidentiality of passed on Voice over Internet Protocol's information. The author of the article shows the places of the potential dangers of safety and the ways of the improvement of the level safety.

Artykuł poświęcony jest zagadnieniom transmisji danych typu "voice" w sieciach IP, a także integracji tych sieci z tradycyjnymi sieciami telefonicznymi. Opisane w nim zostały trzy najczęściej spotykane standardy: H.323 ITU-T, SIP IETF oraz MGCP IETF. Poszczególne standardy zostały scharakteryzowane pod względem architektury podstawowych komponentów działających w sieci i funkcjonalności. Przedstawione zostały też procedury zestawiania połączeń.

This article describes most popular protocols used for transmission voice in IP network and transmission voice between Public Switched Telecommunication Network and IP network. It provides detalied description three most frequently used protocols H.323 ITU-T, SIP IETF, MGCP IETF.

Przedstawiono także rozwiązania, dzięki którym technologia Voice over IP może być z powodzeniem wykorzystywana w sieciach IP.
