The work describes the brand new technology "TANK SYSTEM", which enables to protect of fuel tanks against corrosion and control of tank leakage. The "TANK SYSTEM" makes possible to adapt to meet the requirements of the Act about environment protection and the Decree of the Ministry of Economy made on the 20th September 2000. The "TANK SYSTEM" can be applied to tanks of different construction to extend their life.
In this paper the fundamental problems related to the construction of centralised lubrication systems for application in machinery were presented. Rheological properties of lubrication greases were discussed with focus on the properties of the adjacent-to-wall layer. Based upon bibliographical references fundamental formulas for the determination of clearance and the necessary quantity of lubricant for optimum operation of sliding and rolling bearings were given. The results of testing and the recommended instructions for the determination of the resistance to grease flow in centralised lubrication systems were presented.

Construction and functioning of the mist lubricating systems have been presented. A special experimental stand for testing of oils used to mist lubrication and relevant test method have been described. Some commercial oils was tested. It was assumed that all tested oils have met requirements of mist lubrication.
W artykule na tle ogólnych zagadnień tribologicznych scharakteryzowano stan techniki smarowniczej w kopalniach węgla kamiennego zgrupowanych w Holdingu i Spółkach Węglowych. Na podstawie danych statystycznych zebranych za lata 1994-1996 przedstawiono strukturę oraz wskaźniki zużycia poszczególnych grup środków smarnych i hydraulicznych. Dokonano też porówniania aktualnych danych z informacjami z lat 1969-1975 dla wybranych kopalń Rybnickiego Okręgu Węglowego. We wnioskach wykazano postępujące zmiany w ilości i strukturze zużycia stosowanych środków smarnych i hydraulicznych w górnictwie węglowym.

The state of lubrication technique in the hard coal mines grouped in Coal Companies is characterized on the background of the general tribological problems. Consumption structure and indexes of the particular groups of lubricants and hydraulic fluids are presented on the basis of the statistical data from the years 1994-1996. A comparison of the actual data with information from the years 1969-1975 is carried out for selected collieries of Rybnicki Okręg Węglowy (Rybnik Mining Region). Progressive changes of amount and structure of consumption of lubricants and hydraulic fluids are shown in conlusions.
