The shaping of structural elements of flexible discs formed from synthetic diamond powders on synthetic binders is one of the current problems facing researchers when creating new, highly effective machining tools for the processing of mineral materials. Over many years, natural stone and particularly hard types of rock have been used for and still remain a noble, durable and highly appreciated building material for facings. Meeting the normative requirements for shaping functional properties in automated technology systems for processing such materials requires the development of methods for modeling new construction and material solutions for machining tools, especially with the use of diamond abrasives, which are increasingly used in construction technologies. One requirement is to study the influence of the geometrical form of the abrasive segments of flexible machining discs in order to increase the efficiency of the process of finishing granite surface grinding.

Kształtowanie elementów konstrukcyjnych elastycznych tarcz formowanych z syntetycznych proszków diamentowych na spoiwach syntetycznych stanowi jeden z aktualnych problemów w zakresie badań nad tworzeniem nowych wysoko efektywnych narzędzi obróbczych do obróbki materiałów mineralnych. Kamień naturalny, szczególnie twarde rodzaje skał, od lat były i nadal pozostają szlachetnym trwałym i wysoko docenianym materiałem budowlanym, stosowanym jako materiał okładzinowy. Spełnienie normatywnych wymagań w zakresie kształtowania właściwości użytkowych w zautomatyzowanych systemach technologii obróbki takich materiałów wymaga opracowania sposobów modelowania nowych rozwiązań konstrukcyjno-materiałowych narzędzi obróbczych szczególnie z wykorzystaniem ścierniwa diamentowe go, które w technologiach budowlanych znajdują coraz większe zastosowanie. Jednym z nich jest zbadanie wpływu formy geometrycznej segmentów ściernych elastycznych tarcz obróbczych w celu zwiększenia efektywności procesu szlifowania wykończeniowego powierzchni płyt granitowych.

Przedstawiono wybrane rezultaty dotyczące stereometrycznej charakterystyki stanu czynnych powierzchni elastycznych tarcz ściernych z ziarnami typu Trizact™ po procesie szlifowania stali NC6. Pomiary realizowano z wykorzystaniem zaawansowanej techniki mikroskopowej – mikroskopii różnicowania ogniskowego – oraz specjalistycznego oprogramowania komputerowego.

In the paper there were presented the selected results of experimental investigations in the aim of analysis of stereometric characteristics of condition of active surface of the abrasive discs with grains Trizact™ after the grinding process of steel NC6. During investigations a focus-variation microscopy supported by the specialized software was used.

Content available remote Comparison of abrasion resistance of selected constructional materials

Purpose: The aim of this work was to define and compare abrasion resistance of selected constructional materials widely used in the industry. Chromium cast iron wear resistant plates were compared with typically used wear resistant plates made from Hardox 400 steel and two different, wear resistant, materials cladded by welding technologies. Design/methodology/approach: The tests of abrasive wear were conducted in accordance to procedure “A” of standard ASTM G 65 - Standard Test Method for Measuring Abrasion Using the Dry Sand/Rubber Wheel Apparatus. Findings: Abrasion resistance tests shows that the best properties among investigated samples has chromium cast iron plate. Abrasion wear resistance of this plate is two times higher than wear resistance of layer made by welding technologies and nine times higher than typical Hardox 400 steel plate. Practical implications: Application, of abrasion resistant materials, results in significant material and economy savings, due to wear and costs reduction (decreasing stop times needed to change worn parts for a new one). Originality/value: Wear plates are modern solution in regeneration of worn machines parts and also for producing a new parts which connect high wear and abrasion resistance with costs reduction.

Purpose: Purpose of these researches was to investigate of influence of heat input in robotized surfacing on quality and properties of cermetalic layers. Design/methodology/approach: The quality of single and multilayer, stringer and weave beads was assessed by abrasion resistance tests according to ASTMG65 standard, erosion resistance tests according to G76 standard, metallographic examinations and hardness tests. Findings: Due to the fact that the it was used robotized surfacing stand, the analysis of properties of the deposits was performed for single and multilayer, stringer and weave beads. Research limitations/implications: For complete information about tested wear plates it is needed to compare theirs properties with others presented technologies of wear plates producing. Practical implications: Results of this paper is to optimal range of parameters of surfacing of single and multilayer, stringer and weave beads of cermetalic layers. Originality/value: The researches (hardness tests, abrasion and erosion resistance tests) were provided for surfacing of single and multilayer, stringer and weave beads, and the results were compared. The influence of heat input on layers properties and theirs structure was defined.

Purpose: of these researches was to compare of chromium cast iron wear plates deposits properties. Design/methodology/approach: : the quality of wear plates was assessed by low-stress abrasion resistance to metal-ceramic scratching by means dry quartz sand as the abrasion material tests according to G65 standard, erosion resistance tests according to G76 standard, metallographic examinations and hardness tests. Findings: due to the fact that the wear plates were produced by overlap weave beads surfacing method, the analysis of properties of the plates was performed in the middle area of deposits as well as overlap beads area. Research limitations/implications: for complete information about tested wear plates it is needed to compare theirs properties with others presented plates Practical implications: results of this paper is to increase quality of wear plates and comparison of properties of wear plates produced by different producers. Originality/value: the researches (hardness tests, abrasion and erosion resistance tests) were provided in the middle area of deposits and also in overlap area, the results were compared.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki z analizy numerycznej stateczności tarcz ciernych hamulca wielotarczowego typu mokrego. Podano również rozkład naprężeń docisku w elementach ciernych dla rzeczywistego rozwiązania konstrukcyjnego. Rozkład temperatury obciążającej element cierny dobrano na podstawie wcześniejszych prac.

The results of numerical analysis of stability of a multidisk abrasive disk of the wet type are presented. A distribution of the pressing stresses in the abrasive elements for the real constructional solution is also presented. The temperature distribution loading the abrasive element has been selected from the earlier works.
