The paper presents a numerical and experimental analysis of the state of stress in a plate with a circular hole subjected to uniaxial tension. It was shown that the maximum difference in the values of reduced stress calculated numerically in relation to the results obtained experimentally was n red max = -31,86 % As the numerical method allow to obtain stress values lower than those obtained experimentally, it can be assumed that the calculations with the aforementioned methods ensure safe operation of the designed structures.
