Zbiornik Goczałkowice stanowi źródło zaopatrzenia ludności w wodę, dlatego konieczne jest badanie jego trofii, czyli żyzności zbiornika. Na podstawie indeksów Car- slona: fosforowego i chlorofilowego, wyka-zano, że do lat 80. zbiornik był mezotroficz- ny, a po 1980 r. stał się eutroficzny. Klasyfikacja trofii wód zbiornika Goczałkowice - określona metodą Vollenweidera poprzez średnie stężenie fosforu ogólnego w okresie cyrkulacji wiosennej, na podstawie stężeń fosforanów i związków azotu oraz metodą jakościową - również potwierdza, że w latach 90. zbiornik Goczałkowice należał do eutroficznych. Analizując indeks chlorofilowy Carslona zauważono, ze trofia zbiornika w ostatnich latach znacząco spadła, co świadczy o poprawie jakości wód zbiornika Goczałkowice

The Goczałkowice reservoir constitutes a source of water supply for the population; therefore it is necessary to measure its trophic state, i.e. fertility. The Carlson indexes - phosphorus and chlorophyll - allowed to demonstrate that until the 1980's the reservoir was mesotrophic and afterwards it became eutrophic. The classification of the trophic state of the Goczałkowice reservoir waters - determined with the Vollenweider method through the average concentration of total phosphorus in the spring circulation period, based on the phosphates and nitrogen compounds concentrations, and with the quality method - also confirms that in the 1990's the Goczałkowice reservoirs was qualified as eutrophic. The analysis of the Carlson chlorophyll index indicated that the reservoir's trophy has significantly decreased in the recent years what is the evidence oh the improved state of the Goczałkowice reservoir waters.
