W artykule przedstawiono zjawisko wypływu gazów ze zlikwidowanych kopalń w aspekcie jego niebezpieczeństwa dla mieszkańców terenów pogórniczych. Przedstawiono dwa istniejące modele matematyczne dotyczące tego procesu i wyniki obliczeń, których rezultaty zgadzają się z pomiarami prowadzonymi nad zlikwidowanym szybem kopalni "Zabrze". W artykule przedstawiono także możliwość zastosowania równania Bernoulliego do teoretycznej oceny wpływu zmian ciśnienia atmosferycznego oraz składu mieszaniny gazowej na prędkość wypływu gazów przez zlikwidowany szyb kopalniany.

Phenomenon of gas outflow liquidated mines in the aspect of hazard for the inhabitants of mining areas is presented. Since especially dangerous is outflow of gases through the abandoned shaft (situated under the building, when the occupants have no information about it), where backfilling material suddenly subsided and occurred air-dynamic contact of goaf with the surface. There is necessary to recognize such a phenomenon to be able to reduce the hazard. Two existing mathematical models referring to this process and results of calculations, results which tally with the surveys carried over the liquidated shaft of mine "Zabrze", are presented. Also possibility of Bernoulli equation use for theoretical evaluation of atmospheric pressure changes influence as well as of gas mixture on gas outflow speed through abandoned mine shaft, are also presented.
