The article describes the Ella platform used as a tool for creating virtual training. The introductory part of the article presents the starting points for effective training as a tool for increasing the competitiveness of enterprises. Furthermore, the article provides examples of virtual training that has already been carried out, and Ella platform has been used in their preparation. The main part of the article is devoted to presenting the Ella platform as a modern and innovative tool for creating virtual training. This article also presents the result of applied research and development.

Artykuł przedstawia koncepcję Laboratorium Zanurzonej Wizualizacji Przestrzennej, powstającego właśnie przy Wydziale Elektroniki, Telekomunikacji i Informatyki Politechniki Gdańskiej w ramach grantu Nowoczesne Audytoria Politechniki Gdańskiej. Podstawowym urządzeniem tego laboratorium będzie sześcienna instalacja typu CAVE (ang. Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) wzbogacona w sferyczny symulator chodu (ang. spherical walk simulator). Urządzenie to umożliwi użytkownikowi nieograniczony marsz, a nawet bieg, przez dowolnie wykreowany świat wirtualny. Jeśli świat wirtualny przyjmie postać pola bitwy lub płonącego budynku, to urządzenie będzie mogło pełnić funkcję trenażera żołnierza piechoty lub strażaka. Otwarcie laboratorium nastąpi w połowie 2014 r.

The paper presents the concept of Immersive 3D Visualization Laboratory, formed at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics at Gdańsk University of Technology under the project Gdańsk University of Technology's Modern auditoriums. The basic unit of this laboratory will be cubic CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) enriched with spherical walk simulator. This device will allow the user unlimited walking, and even running, by a freely created virtual world. If the virtual world becomes a battlefield or a burning building, this device will be able to serve as infantry soldier simulator or firefighter simulator. The opening of the laboratory will take place in mid-2014.

Feasibility of use of the virtual reality system for design of the work stands ergonomics and for performance of virtual training of operation of the industrial machine and equipment.
