Nanocrystallization of LaF, in glass from the SiO2-Al2O3-Na2O-LaF, system has been studied. The correlation between glass composition and the effect of the ceramization of LaF, has been found. The thermal stability of the glass was investigated by DTA method. A size of the nanocrystallites was obtained by TMA observation as well as Scherrer's calculation of XRD data with respect to the time of the heat treatment. Effect of the ceramization process on the absorbence of the glass at the range 200-1100 nm was determined.
