Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyse attempts at improving the bond between acrylic artificial teeth and the denture base plate - considered in the context of single incisors in framework denture. Design/methodology/approach: It is a review article focusing on the analysis of state of the art in the field of the bond between the polymerised acrylic (teeth) and the polymerising acrylic resin during the production of denture (denture plate). Previous works regard the issue of individual incisor teeth (both upper and lower) breaking off from the metal partial denture. Findings: The bond between artificial acrylic teeth and the acrylic denture plate of the prosthesis was discussed. Ways of improving this bond were also presented. Although researchers and companies offer many methods for improving this bond, none of them refer directly to the issue discussed in this article. In conclusion- the hitherto scientific achievements work well in the case of acrylic prostheses without a metal frame, which constitutes an obstacle for achieving the effect required. In this work, it is suggested that further research would not only develop and provide more detail on the issue of the bond between artificial teeth and the denture plate, but also solve the problem appearing in cases of metal partial denture. Originality/value: This article shows a significant problem that hasn’t been discussed in detail in the past.

This paper discusses the changes in the design of canopies for British fighter aircraft in World War II. During the war, the state of the art for these aircraft types underwent a major evolution in terms of performance and armament. Somewhat underappreciated is the corresponding development of canopy designs, which proved to be a critical component in terms of pilot effectiveness and survivability. It will be shown that this development was influenced by the evolving perspective on the nature of the aerial warfare as well as improved construction methods. This resulted in not only massively improved designs at the end of the war, but also in establishing new concepts which are still in use today.

Zadaniem niniejszego artykułu jest przeanalizowanie przemian zachodzących w konstrukcji kabin pilotów w brytyjskich samolotach myśliwskich w trakcie II wojny światowej. W czasie wojny najbardziej zaawansowane technicznie maszyny zostały gruntownie rozwinięte pod względem maksymalizacji osiągów i zwiększenia siły ognia. Jednakże, niedostateczną uwagę w badaniach poświęcono kwestii zachodzących równolegle przemian w budowie kabin pilotów, które okazały się jednym z ważniejszych aspektów technicznych, znacznie wpływającym na skuteczność bojową pilotów i stopień przeżywalności w czasie lotów bojowych. Niniejszy artykuł wykaże, że głównymi czynnikami wpływającymi na rozwój kabin pilotów było zmieniające się postrzeganie charakteru wojny powietrznej, jak również coraz lepsze metody konstrukcyjne. Efektem tych przemian były nie tylko znaczne lepsze konstrukcje z końcowej fazy działań wojennych, lecz również nowe koncepcje w projektowaniu, z których korzysta się do dziś.

Zadaniem artykułu jest przeanalizowanie przemian zachodzących w konstrukcji kabin pilotów w brytyjskich samolotach myśliwskich w trakcie II wojny światowej. W czasie wojny najbardziej zaawansowane technicznie maszyny zostały gruntownie rozwinięte pod względem maksymalizacji osiągów i zwiększenia siły ognia. Jednakże, niedostateczną uwagę w badaniach poświęcono kwestii zachodzących równolegle przemian w budowie kabin pilotów, które okazały się jednym z ważniejszych aspektów technicznych, znacznie wpływającym na skuteczność bojową pilotów i szanse przeżycia w czasie lotów bojowych. Niniejszy artykuł wykaże, że głównymi czynnikami wpływającymi na rozwój kabin pilotów były zmieniające się postrzeganie charakteru wojny powietrznej, jak również coraz lepsze metody konstrukcyjne. Efektem tych przemian były nie tylko znacznie lepsze konstrukcje z końcowej fazy działań wojennych, lecz również nowe koncepcje w projektowaniu, z których korzystamy do dziś.

Noise reduction should be done in the standard of the comprehensive protection: noise barriers along roads, transparent noise barriers on viaducts and bridges, but also the use of appropriate glazing of buildings. The paper presents the specifications of fixed noise barriers and the versatile use of acrylic and mineral glass in acoustic protection.
