The study of track gauge influence on lateral stability of 4-axle rail vehicle model

Analysis of lateral stability of rail vehicle model is the subject of present paper. The method used by the author is based on bifurcation diagrams creation and analysis. The continued study of stability of vehicle model in straight track and curved track and form of the results presentation are original features of the method. Results for the straight track and wide range of radii of the curved track are presented jointly on the combined bifurcation diagrams in this paper. Multibody dynamics software VI-Rail was used for numerical analysis. Passenger vehicle model and track models were created. Analysis of track gauge influence on vehicle model stability is main aim of this paper. But analysis of possibility to adopt the method worked out earlier to the newly used numerical code and model of 4-axle vehicle is the aim either.

Omówiono nową technologię zastosowaną w pasażerskich i towarowych przewozach między kolejami o różnej szerokości toru i perspektywy jej upowszechnienia. Porównano przewozy pasażerów i ładunków taborem mającym rozsuwane koła (system SUW 2000) z przewozami z zastosowaniem innych technologii przy zmianie szerokości toru; scharakteryzowano dotychczasowe doświadczenia uzyskane podczas eksploatacji nowego systemu. Przedstawiono cele i zakres prac badawczych i wdrożeniowych projektu INTERGAUGE, wykonywanego w 6. programie Ramowym UE.

A new technology applied to passenger and freight traffic between railways using different track gauge and prospects of its dissemination are discussed. Passenger and freight traffic carried by mean of rolling stock equipped with track gauge changing system (SUW 2000) is compared to other traffic using different technologies of track gauge change. Experience gained during opera.tion of the new system is presented. Goals, range of research and implementation works within the INTERGAUGE project being carried out within the 6th EU Frame Program are presented.

Jednym z głównych wymagań dotyczących rozjazdów projektowanych do dużych prędkości pociągów, jest utrzymanie ich szerokości w granicach dopuszczalnych. Artykuł przedstawia opracowaną procedurę ustalania odchyłek dopuszczalnych i nominalnych wymiarów szerokości toru w rozjazdach.

One of the major requirements to be met by a turnouts designed for high speeds is that of keeping its gauge within acceptable limits. The procedure developed to determine the permissible geometrical deviations and nominal dimensions of track gauge in turnouts is presented in the article.

Rozwiązaniem problemów związanych z brakiem możliwośći bezpośredniego przejazdu wagonów kolejowych z jednej szerokości toru na inną szerokość są zestawy kołowe z kołami samoczynnie przestawnymi. Realizacja zmiany szerokości rozstawu kół i dostosowanie ich do określonej szerokośći toru odbywa się na torowym stanowisku przestawczym.
