Duży obszar aglomeracji miejskiej Katowic można zagospodarować, wspomagając lokalny system przyrodniczy w formie tymczasowych obiektów. Można to uzyskać za pomocą form typu Land Art. Mogą mieć formę wzorów wyrzeźbionych w gruncie, układów roślinnych i instalacji plastycznych. Podobny wyraz artystyczny mogą mieć też tereny obsiane mieszankami roślin. W artykule podkreślono istotną rolę rodzimej roślinności. Sieć tymczasowo zagospodarowanych obszarów, ukształtowanych estetycznie i wspomagających system przyrodniczy dzięki zastosowaniu roślin rodzimych, wzmagającemu ich naturalna sukcesję nazwano Górnośląskim Parkiem Efemerycznym.

A large area of the Katowice agglomeration can be developed, supporting nature system in a way of temporary objects. This can be achieved by means of the Land Art forms. They could be patterns shaped on the ground, made with the use of plants and installations, at the untouched background of landscape. They could be implemented as meadows with mixed plants. The important role of native plants is highly emphasized there. A complex of temporary, developed areas, aesthetically shaped and supporting the nature system due to the use of native plants, enhancing their natural succession was called the Upper Silesian Ephemeral Park.

Different impact of urban green and park spaces has been discussed in the article taking their environment as a sum of external conditions which may influence behavioral patterns of those who use them. Such places provide areas where diversified needs and expectations of individual human beings are to be met. They stretch from a need to be in a group, to meet others, to other need contrasting with the previous one, to be lonely and anonymous. Such diversification should be taken into consideration of garden and parks planning and programming.
