Using the online learning platform provides a dynamic training program at substantially reduced costs compared with the conventional systems. They ensure the development of a scalable products, secure online access to thousands of students even for distance learning, offering them the books available online, multimedia support, etc. Outside the curriculum it was developed a flexible verification and scoring system, uploading projects, maintaining a permanent online contact between students on the one side and between students and lecturers on the other side. In the online lessons there may be audio or video links between students and lecturer, when the session administrator believes that certain aspects need to be developed in this way. Ensuring for a convenient program of resources access may allow students to structure better the learning period.

Korzystanie z platformy uczenia się online zapewnia dynamiczny program szkoleniowy przy znacznie obniżonych kosztach w porównaniu z konwencjonalnymi systemami. Zapewniają one rozwój skalowalnych produktów, bezpieczny dostęp online do tysięcy uczniów, nawet do kształcenia na odległość, oferując im książki dostępne online, materiały multimedialne, etc. Poza programem nauczania opracowany został elastyczny system weryfikacji i oceny punktowej, przesyłania projektów, utrzymujący stały kontakt online pomiędzy studentami z jednej strony oraz między studentami i wykładowcami z drugiej strony. W lekcjach online mogą znaleźć się audio lub wideo powiązania pomiędzy studentami i wykładowcą, gdy administrator sesji uzna, że niektóre aspekty powinny być rozwinięte w taki właśnie sposób. Zapewnienie wygodnego programu dostępu do zasobów może umożliwić uczniom lepsze zorganizowanie okresu nauki.

Semantic data description in Content Management Systems

The article presents a proposal to use microformats as a method of semantic data description in Content Management Systems. Currently they are only a few both scientific and commercial solutions of semantic data description. Their use in CMS significantly enhances the ability to “understand” data by search engines. In the paper some examples of microformats having full specification are included. In the practical part an implementation of microformats in TinyMCE environment, which is one of the most popular editor in CMS, is presented.

Purpose: The issue of distance learning is presented in the work, and especially the development stages of the educational platform of the Internet Teaching Centre for Students (further referred to as ICKS), which is planned to be used for implementation of the e-learning didatcic process. Design/methodology/approach: The following programming technologies were used for development of the educational platform: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and SQL. The relational database was designed using the DFD and ERD models, and created in MySQL using the SQL language. PHP language was used to develop the relevant interface so that the user can access and modify data in the database; scripts in this language form the MySQL database front-end making it possible to carry out operations on data. The ICKS web page interface, including the Administrative Panel, Student Rooms, and Teacher Rooms, was developed using the HTML language and the CSS cascading style sheets. Findings: Detailed e-learning site specification requires were put forth and the contemporary technologies were applied to develop the framework for the scaleable e-learning platform. Research limitations/implications: The system will have to be filled in with relevant course materials and tested thoroughly before being fielded. Originality/value: System elements development completed out so far and detailed specifications make it possible to implement the platform to handle all subjects taught at the Institute.

The purpose of this project was to create a system that would help in organizational and scientific data exchange. The system has been put into production at the Department of Bioinformatics and Telemedicine of the Medical College of Jagiellonian University. The system is designed for the university staff, doctors, experts, students as well as anyone interested. The system helps to maintain fast and efficient data exchange of both administrative and scientific kind, particularly directed towards the medical and related fields such as biostatistics, bioinformatics and telemedicine. This paper shows in detail: the design of the system, technology involved, functionality of the system, data flow, database structure, and security system, all matching the requirements of the project. The conclusion contains a discussion on the system's future growth for which the project is prepared for as well as direct examples of some of the possible new features.

Głównym celem pracy byto stworzenie systemu wspomagania wymiany danych naukowych. System został skonfigurowany dla wymagań Zakładu Bioinformatyki i Telemedycyny Collegium Medicum Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. System przeznaczony jest zarówno dla pracowników jednostki naukowej a także lekarzy, studentów oraz innych współpracownikow. Umożliwia on pełniejszą, i szybszą, wymianę informacji zarówno organizacyjno-administracynych jak i naukowych. System został stworzony do zarządzania danymi pochodzącymi z nauk medycznych i innych pokrewnych dyscyplin w szczególności informatyki medycznej, telemedycyny, bioinformatyki. Artykuł pokazuje nowatorskie rozwiązania zastosowane w skonstruowanym systemie zarządzania treścią. (CMS), które znacznie poprawiają, jego funkcjonalność. Szczególny nacisk został położony na kwestie bezpieczeństwa, poziomy dostępności danych i profile użytkowników. W systemie zostały zaimplementowane zaawansowane rozwiązania informatyczne dotyczące mechanizmów wyszukiwania danych jak fonetyczne porównanie i wielopoziomowe przydzielenie uprawnień.
