Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is a measure of economic performance of the state, however, it does not give an answer to the question about the standard of living including the factors related to the natural environment. For many years scientists have been trying to assemble indicators which would reflect the reality, including the level of social welfare, giving more complete image. Yet, these indicators have been proved to be largely inaccurate, due to estimated values used for calculations (for example: the value of work produced in a household, but not recorded on the market, or value of goods and services produced within informal sector). According to this fact, those indicators had even number of proponents and opponents Following, a pragmatic approach was adopted, deciding to develop the satellite accounts of The System of National Accounts (SNA). The implementation of the accounts is truly challenging, in terms of methodology and organization and structural planning. It requires unified definitions and precise regulations for collecting data.
