Simulation of wave propagation in the three-dimensional (3D) modeling of the vocal tract has shown significant promise for enhancing the accuracy of speech production. Recent 3D waveguide models of the vocal tract have been designed for better accuracy but require a lot of computational tasks. A high computational cost in these models leads to novel work in reducing the computational cost while retaining accuracy and performance. In the current work, we divide the geometry of the vocal tract into four equal symmetric parts with the introduction of two axial perpendicular planes, and the simulation is performed on only one part. A novel strategy is defined to implement symmetric conditions in the mesh. The complete standard 3D digital waveguide model is assumed as a benchmark model. The proposed model is compared with the benchmark model in terms of formant frequencies and efficiency. For the demonstration, the vowels /O/, /i/, /E/, /A/, and /u/ have been selected for the simulations. According to the results, the benchmark and current models are nearly identical in terms of frequency profiles and formant frequencies. Still the current model is three times more effective than the benchmark model.

This paper presents a new multilevel inverter topology which can generate all required numbers of levels at the output stage. The proposed topology is composed of six unidirectional switches, several bidirectional switches, and DC voltage sources. To add perspective, the proposed topology is compared with other topologies. The comparison shows that the proposed topology generates more voltage levels without the need for all excess number of switches and DC voltage sources. Moreover, the smaller number of switches in the current flow leads to decreased conductive loss in the proposed topology. To assure the proposed topology operates correctly, it is simulated with the aid of PSCAD/EMTDC software and the results are discussed.

The material of a part or component has a decisive impact on the complexity and laboriousness of assembly process. Thus, solid, fragile and flexible parts and components are all handled in a different way. The present paper classifies some of the most common types of materials parts are usually made of, while also analyzing their impact on the assembly process. In mechanical engineering, solid parts are most often used, given that these do not require special measures in known assembly orientation and handling techniques. However, such solid materials pose several challenges as well, and this mainly due to their several specific shapes, which means a specific problem in gripping and especially in their orientation during the assembly process. In this regard, the paper also addresses with one of the most important and assembly-troublesome properties of these solid parts, which the degree of symmetry. The degree of symmetry of solid parts has a direct impact on the complexity and laboriousness of their orientation in assembly. The last part of the paper focuses on the theoretical basis for the calculation of complexity and laboriousness in the assembly of parts.

Content available remote On lacunary p-absolutely summable fuzzy real-valued double sequence space
EN
In this article, we introduce the class of p-absolutely summable fuzzy real valued double sequence (…). We have studied some algebraic properties like solid, symmetric, convergence free, sequence algebra. Further, we establish some relation with the class of p-Cesàro summable double sequences and some other important inclusion results.

Content available remote A note on strict K-monotonicity of some symmetric function spaces
EN
We discuss some sufficient and necessary conditions for strict K-monotonicity of some important concrete symmetric spaces. The criterion for strict monotonicity of the Lorentz space Γp,w with 0 < p < ∞ is given.

Przedstawiono rys historyczny rozwoju przewodowych technik transmisji sygnałów. Podkreślono rolę transmisji światłowodowej w sieciach WDM i DWDM.

Historical outline of development of wired signal transmission techniques is presented. Following transmission media are discussed: symmetric cables, coaxial cables with cooper wires and optotelecommunication cables with optic fibers. Fallowing transmission techniques are also characterized: multiple analog systems FDM, digital systems PCM, PDH, SDH and ATM. Application of digital transmission techniques in access, metropolitan and backbone networks are discussed. The role of fiberoptic transmission in WDM and DWDM networks is stressed.

Content available remote Strong normalisation of cut-elimination in clasical logic
EN
In this paper we present a strongly normalising cut-elimination procedure for classical logic. This procedure adapts Gentzen's standard cut-reductions, but is less restrictive than previous strongly normalising cut-elimination procedures. In comparison, for example, with works by Dragalin and Danos et al., our procedure requires no special annotations on formulae and allows cut-rules to pass over other cut-rules. In order to adapt the notion of symmetric reducibility candidates for proving the strong normalisation property, we introduce a novel term assignment for sequent proofs of classical logic and formalise cut-reductions as term rewriting rules.

In this paper we determine the structure of the groupoid of normal form hypersubstitutions with respect to the variety of symmetric, idempotent, entropic groupoids, describe the monoid of all proper hypersubstitutions, and ask which identities are satisfied as hyperidentities.
