The problem of professional skills of the graduates of studies in geoinformatics is extremely important in the light of the goals and needs of the INSPIRE directive. In this paper, the authors have attempted to answer several related questions, based on the experience of the IG&SM of the Jagiellonian University from the international UNIGIS studies, educational projects (Tempus), as well as from regular geography studies. It was claimed that study programmes in the field of geoinformatics could be streamlined in such a way as to lead towards various competence profiles of the graduates. Exemplary profiles could be .users. and .makers. of geographic information. The first group should be able to combine social or environmental knowledge with the knowledge in the field of geoinformatics and related technical skills. The .makers. should focus in their education on various technological aspects of geoinformatics. It seems that this distinction reflects . to some extent . two basic models of higher education in Poland. In addition, to build rational models of curricula within geoinformatics, co-operation of representatives of all fields of science concerned is required. Only this way barriers related to multi-faceted, dynamic nature of geoinformatics can be overcome.

W oparciu o wyniki ankiet przeprowadzonych wśród absolwentów studiów dziennych i zaocznych Wydziału Agroinżynierii Akademii Rolniczej im. H. Kołłątaja w Krakowie w rok po ukończeniu studiów, porównano wybrane cechy populacji absolwentów w rozbiciu na studia dzienne i zaoczne.

Results of survey conducted one year after graduation among graduates of full-time and extramural studies at the Faculty of Engineering and Energetics in Agriculture of the Hugo Kołłątaj Agricultural University of Cracow allow to compare selected features of graduate population, divided into full-time and extramural studies.

Nawiązując do aktualnych trendów cywilizacyjnych i odczytując stosowne znaki czasu, a także - mając na uwadze tworzywo współczesnego człowieka, prezentuje się najnowsze nurty w dziedzinie budownictwa oraz związane z ninmi wymogi edukacyjne inźynierów i całego społeczeństwa. W szczególności omawia się relacje między teorią i praktyką, właściwe tu wskazania etyki, tudzież - dzisiejsze i przyszłe potrzeby środowiska, estetyki, dziedzictwa i rozwoju zrównoważonego. Na tym tle kreuje się pożądaną sylwetkę absolwenta kierunku Budownictwa.

Considering the present trends of civilization and interpreting the complementary time characteristics, as well as - taking into account the substance of the contemporary human being, the most actual moods of civil engineering and the relevant educational needs of engineeres and of the whole society are introduced. Especially, the relations between the theory and practice and adequate implications of ethics are discussed - together with the up-to-date and future requirements of the society, aesthetics, heritage, and sustainable development. Within that background, the desired shape of civil engineering graduate is being produced.
