Praca dotyczy procesu suszenia materiałów ceramicznych przy zmiennych, ale odpowiednio sterowanych, parametrach czynnika suszącego. Przedstawiono wyniki badań doświadczalnych dla procesu suszenia konwekcyjnego prowadzonego zarówno przy zmiennej temperaturze jak i zmiennej wilgotności powietrza. Zaproponowano model matematyczny do opisu kinetyki suszenia niestacjonarnego, który umożliwia symulacje i eksperymenty numeryczne celem optymalizacji procesu. Otrzymane na bazie tego modelu wyniki obliczeń numerycznych wykazują dobrą korelację z danymi eksperymentalnymi. We wniosku końcowym stwierdza się, że dynamiczne warunki suszenia pozwalają otrzymać materiał lepszej jakości, nie wydłużając jednocześnie znacząco samego procesu suszenia.

This paper concerns both experimental and theoretical examination of drying processes of ceramic like materials in constant and controlled variable drying conditions for comparison. The drying kinetics is determined experimentally and numerically for constant and variable temperature and for stable relative humidity of the drying air. The quality of the dried samples were assessed optically and the strength of the dried samples obtained in given drying conditions was tested. The mathematical model presented in the paper allowed construction of the drying kinetics for both stable and variable parameters of the drying air. The numerical data obtained on the basis of the model show a good adherence with the experimental ones. Such a model can be used for optimization of the drying time for the processes in variable drying conditions with respect to those in constant drying conditions. It was stated that drying in variable conditions allows to obtain better quality of the dried products without significant extension of the process duration.
