In this work, the application of the thiol-functionalized epoxy resin encapsulated on magnetic core as supports for palladium catalysts is reported. The study focuses on obtaining of heterogeneous catalysts which can be separated by magnetic field. Palladium complex catalyst [PdCl2(PhCN)2] has been heterogenized by anchoring to these supports via ligand exchange reaction. The characterization of polymeric supports and heterogenized palladium catalysts has involved research methods like time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and nitrogen BET surface area measurements. The activity and stability during long-term use of the investigated catalytic systems were tested in a Heck and hydrogenation reaction. The influence of the type of thiols used as epoxy hardeners and the morphology of the supports on the catalytic properties of epoxy-supported palladium catalysts was discussed.

Oxidative desulfurization (ODS) of synthetic diesel was carried out at mild conditions (at atmospheric pressure and temperature of 80 °C) in the presence of V1O5/AI2O3 and V-MCM-41 catalysts, using hydrogen peroxide (H1O2) or rm-butyl hydroperoxide (TBPH) as an oxidant. Obtained results show that removal of benzothiophenic compounds is more effective in the presence of TBHP. Moreover, it has been observed that conversion of sulfur compounds is not a function of textural properties of the catalysts.

The recoverable heterogeneous silica-supported catalyst selenenamide 2 was prepared by the coupling of 3-aminopropylsilicate (4)with 2-chloroselenobenzoyl chloride (6). Its catalytic activity was demonstrated in tert-butyl hydroperoxide oxidation of aldehydes 8 to carboxylic acids 9 and benzylamines 17 to nitriles 18. Moreover, it was employed for hydrogen peroxide oxidation of azomethine compounds such as tosylhydrazones 10, oximes 13 and N,N-dimethylhydrazones 16 to parent ketones 12, arenecarboxylic acids 11 and 15, their methyl esters 14 and nitriles 18 depending on the substrate used and the reaction conditions. The catalystwas simply recovered by filtration and could be reused.

Katalizatory tlenkowe na nośniku y-Al2O3) o scharakteryzowanej stabilności termicznej (TG) oraz teksturze (BET) zastosowano w reakcjach rozkładu podtlenku azotu oraz odwodornienia etylobenzenu do styrenu. Zaproponowano alternatywną metodę otrzymywania styrenu na drodze odwodornienia etylobenzenu z użyciem N2O jako czynnika utleniającego. Najaktywniejszym katalizatorem reakcji okazał się Cr/y-AI2O) dla którego w temperaturze 450°C uzyskano 43% wydajności styrenu.

Thermal stability (TG) and texture (BET) of transition metal oxides supported on y-Al2O3 were characterized. The catalysts were used in reactions of decomposition of nitrous oxide and ethylbenzene dehydrogenation to styrene. Alternative method of styrene production by ethylbenzene dehydrogenation in presence of N2O (used as oxidant) was proposed. Styrene yield of 43% was achived over the most active catalyst (Cr/y-Al2O3) at 450st.C.
