The paper describes the influence of the support stringers geometry on the load-bearing capacity of the discretely supported steel silos shells with skirts. Firstly, the influence of stringers cross sectional area and their moment of inertia were analyzed. Secondly, author examined what other geometrical characteristics may influence on the load-bearing capacity of silo shell Theoretical considerations were illustrated by an example calculation.
