In the paper the possibility of increasing electricity generation capacity of biogas plant by using an additional module with organic fluid was analyzed. The energy is to be supplied from heat recovered from the engine casing. Analysed was the energy efficiency of power plant operated at subcritical (ORC) or supercritical parameters (S-ORC), while maintaining comparable conditions of supply and removing the heat. The ORC and S-ORC units cycle are supplied with network water with initial temperature of 90[degrees]C. Condensation of working fluid in both cases occurs at the temperature of 30[degrees]C and heat is removed with air cooled in the cooling tower. Additional condition which must be met is a constant value of the return water temperature to the engine set at 63[degrees]C. Analysed was the influence of evaporation temperature of the working fluid in the subcritical cycle as well as the influence of working fluid turbine inlet pressure in the supercritical cycle on the efficiency of power plant operation. It was found, based on the obtained results, that the use of the module with organic fluid would increase the electric power capacity of the biogas power plant by as much as 7.5%.
