In the paper the results of tests are presented of influence of the polymeric super-absorbent (SAP) (0-0,9 m.c) on the properties of the cement pastes (8.1% of silica fume, water/binder = 0,36). The influence of the mass fraction of hydrogel on hydration time and on density, absorbability, resistivity and compressive strength fc has been determined, taking into account two methods of introduction of hydrogel (initially water humidified and in dry state), two curing procedures (without water exchange with environment and in water) and two hardening times (28 and 56 days). It has been concluded that the effect of the hydrogel addition depends more on the curing procedure than on the method of introduction of hydrogel. Test results obtained by other authors that the influence of internal humidifation on the compressive strength was positive have not been confirmed.
