Logistics interpretation of product characteristics of liquefied and compressed natural gas

This paper analyzes product characteristics as a factor that affects the activities performed in the logistic channel. The analysis has been conducted for a specific product - natural gas and, in particular its two forms: liquefied and compressed. The features of these two forms are outlined in the context of fuel distribution to end-users. This study aims to structure and expand the existing knowledge about alternative distribution of natural gas to the end users based on an analysis of literary sources and regulations on its carriage by road and rail transport. A comparative analysis of the product characteristics of liquefied and compressed natural gas has been carried out and some basic features concerning logistics activities and logistics costs have been outlined.

Integration of spendings on the agricultural sector in the national budget and the budgets of voivodes in Poland in the long term (2000-2013)

The purpose of this article is to identify the areas of integration spendings on the agricultural sector in the national budget and the budgets of voivodes in the years 2000-2013, with an indication of the processes of their complementarity and substitutability. There was analyzed the expenditures of national and the EU budget flowing to the agricultural sector in Poland, showing their significant increase after the Polish integration with the EU. Was noticeable, however, that increasing spendings on the agricultural sector from the national budget could be „enforced” by increasing funding from the EU. This indicates the integrity understood as complementary to each other. Then shown the complementarity and substitutability spendings on the agricultural sector in the central agricultural budgets and the budgets of voivodes with regard to the financing of projects involving EU funds, noting ongoing trends.

Celem artykułu było wskazanie na obszary integracji wydatków na sektor rolny w budżecie centralnym i w budżetach wojewodów w latach 2000-2013, ze wskazaniem na zachodzące procesy ich komplementarności i substytucyjności. Przeanalizowano wydatki z krajowego oraz unijnego budżetu płynące do sektora rolnego w Polsce, wykazując na ich istotne zwiększenie po integracji Polski z UE. Zauważalne było jednocześnie, że rosnące wydatki na sektor rolny z budżetu krajowego mogły być „wymuszane” przez rosnące środki z UE. Wskazuje to na ich integralność rozumianą jako komplementarność wobec siebie. Następnie ukazano komplementarności i substytucyjności wydatków na sektor rolny w centralnych budżetach rolnych i budżetach wojewodów z uwzględnieniem finansowania projektów z udziałem środków europejskich, zaznaczając utrwalające się tendencje.

Compact Representations and Efficient Algorithms for Operating Guidelines

Operating guidelines characterize correct interaction (e. g., deadlock freedom) with a service. They can be stored in a service registry. They are typically represented as an annotated transition system where the annotations are Boolean formulae attached to the states. The core result of this article is to propose an alternative representation of operating guidelines where, instead of a Boolean formula, only a few bits need to be stored with a state. This way, we safe one order of magnitude in the space complexity of the representation. Moreover, we demonstrate that the new representation yields efficiency gains in several algorithms which involve operating guidelines. Finally we show that the new representation permits the translation of the transition system representing the operating guidelines into a Petri net which typically yields further gains concerning the space for storing operating guidelines.
