This study presents a model of continuous oncoming traffic flows of vehicles along highways. The flow of atmospheric air and impurity particles is modeled numerically based on unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier–Stokes equations using the MTFS authoring software. Detailing of the flow patterns allows arbitrary length regions of periodicity, taking into account a crosswind. The examples provided demonstrate some of the results of the aerodynamic interaction of two oncoming columns of vehicles. The model of aerodynamic interaction of vehicles in traffic on a straight section of road in tunnels allows an arbitrary number of vehicles in each sub-region, along with an arbitrary, periodically repeating configuration of vegetation and buildings on the side of the road to be considered.

Local authorities of Katowice have proposed to localize a transport hub of the Park&Ride system at Brynowska junction. The paper reviews the impact of this proposition on road traffic at the hub. The analysis of transport modal split was performed. In order to estimate the effects of such a system, an analysis of traffic distribution was done with a questionnaire survey. Based on the results, two traffic simulation models have been developed: first, simulating the current state of Brynowska junction and, second, presenting the junction with the transport hub of the Park&Ride system. A comparison of the two models made it possible to estimate the effects of the implementation of the Park&Ride system. Obtained results prove that this solution could improve the current state of the transportation system.

Władze miasta Katowice zaproponowały utworzenie systemu Park&Ride w węźle przesiadkowym ,,Brynowska”. W artykule przedstawiono wpływ wybudowania systemu Park&Ride na pętlę oraz na ruch drogowy. Wykonano analizę podziału modalnego środków transportu. W celu oceny efektów wdrożenia systemu wykonano analizę rozkładu ruchu drogowego oraz przeprowadzono badania ankietowe. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników sporządzono symulację modelu ruchu, stanu obecnego oraz proponowanego po wdrożeniu systemu Park&Ride. Porównanie dwóch modeli pozwoliło na oszacowanie efektów wdrożenia systemu Park&Ride. Otrzymane rezultaty dowodzą, że takie rozwiązanie może poprawić aktualny stan ruchu drogowego w analizowanym miejscu.

W niniejszym artykule przeanalizowano prędkości statków na poszczególnych odcinkach toru wodnego Szczecin – Świnoujscie. Traktując wartość prędkości statków jako zmienną losową, zbadano typ rozkładu tej zmiennej. Wykazano, że rozkłady mieszane można wykorzystać do opisu tej zmiennej. W artykule wykorzystano dane z systemu VTS, dotyczące czasu pokonywania poszczególnych odcinków toru wodnego.

In this article a vessel speed on particular parts of Szczecin – Świnoujście fairway, has been analised. A probability distribution of the value of the vessel speed (as a random variable), has been scrutinized. Hypothesis about a mixed distribution of this random variable has been proved. In the article, data from VTS system, have been used.
