An original method of modeling gabion grid by using the finite element method (FEM) is presented in the article. The basic problems of calculating the strength of gabions have been identified. Distribution of internal forces in individual segments of the grid taking into account the damage of a single wire has been presented. The presented method joins the results of experimental research with modeling by using FEM. The thesis was created in cooperation with Czestochowa University of Technology and DAWID company.
