The aim of this paper is to present suggestions for optimisation of the process of meal preparation in schools, which would lead to a reduction in the operating costs of the facility and more effective use of the resources in question. As a result of the research it was found that in the organisation studied there exists a real possibility of staffing reductions from 4 to 3.5 full-time jobs, which would directly translate into a reduction in the costs related to running an institutional catering establishment. The schedule prepared also enabled determining the shortest possible time of performing the entire meal preparation process, which also constitutes the critical path.

W dobie ciągłego doskonalenia rośnie zainteresowanie przedsiębiorstw nowymi czynnikami sukcesu, prowadzącymi do wzrostu efektywności. Ważnym elementem wspomagającym nowej organizacji jest filozofia Kaizen, która kładzie nacisk na poprawę jakości i ciągły proces rozwoju. Kultura kazein umożliwia realizacje procesów ciągłego doskonalenia wszystkich obszarów organizacji. W artykule postawiono pytania: "Czy kultura organizacyjna w przedsiębiorstwie może wpływać pozytywnie na implementację Kaizen w przedsiębiorstwie?", a jeśli tak, to "Czy można zidentyfikować czynniki, które pozytywnie lub negatywnie wpływają na ten proces?". Wskazano także podstawowe cechy kultury kazein i przedstawiono efekty kazein w organizacji.

In times set for continuous improvement, an interest of enterprises in new success factors grows. Philosophy of Kaizen is an important component of the new organization which relies on quality improvement and continuous development. The culture of kaizen enables realization of continuous improvement processes in all areas of the organization. In the article questions were put: "Whether organizational culture can have a positive effect on the implementation of kaizen in enterprise?" and if so "Whether it is possible to identify factors which positively or negatively influence this process?". Article also describes the basic features of culture of Kaizen.
