The penetration of renewable energy resources in small isolated grids can be significantly enhanced by introducing energy storage facilities into the system. This work presents the application of pumped storage in an autonomous island with intense solar irradiation but low wind resources. The proposed system hybridizes photovoltaics with pumped hydroelectric energy storage. Taking into account all significant electrical grid and power stations operating parameters, a customizable smart algorithm was developed to simulate the effects of various scenarios of PV-hydro hybrid power plants applied in the autonomous grid of Cyprus. The tools developed can be applied in any other case where hybridization of pumped storage and PVs can be used. This novel approach provides significant benefits for both the penetration of renewables and the stabilization of the autonomous grid, offering numerous technical and commercial benefits to power system operators and stakeholders.

Current power grid and market development, characterized by large growth of distributed energy sources in recent years, especially in Europa, are according energy storage systems an increasingly larger field of implementation. Existing storage technologies, e.g. pumped-storage power plants, have to be upgraded and extended by new but not yet commercially viable technologies (e.g. batteries or adiabatic compressed air energy storage) that meet expected demands. Optimal sizing of storage systems and technically and economically optimal operating strategies are the major challenges to the integration of such systems in the future smart grid. This paper surveys firstly the literature on the latest niche applications. Then, potential new use case and operating scenarios for energy storage systems in smart grids, which have been field tested, are presented and discussed and subsequently assessed technically and economically.

Mięśnie piersiowe gęsi charakteryzuje zbliżona zawartość białka ogólnego, wyraźnie większa zawartość tłuszczu i nieco większa zawartość cholesterolu w stosunku do mięśni kurcząt. Wraz ze wzrostem znaczenia przemysłowego pakowania porcjowanego mięsa i wyrobów mięsnych obserwuje się rozwój metod pakowania w atmosferze ochronnej, w których zastosowano atmosferę próżni oraz gazów obojętnych. Taka forma pakowania mięsa ma na celu wydłużenie okresu trwałości, zwiększenie dyspozycyjności podczas dystrybucji oraz podniesienie jego atrakcyjności handlowej.

With the growing of importance of industrial packaging portioned meat and meat products, it is observed the development of method of packaging under modified atmosphere conditions in which were used vacuum or inert gases. This packaging method causes prolongation of shelf life, increase the availability during distribution and commercial attractiveness.
